Blown away! Update
We just built a new home and in Maine code forces you to install a septic tank filter to prevent solids and grease from making its way to the leach field. After 4 months of being in our home I noticed some wetness by the septic tank. Upon investigation it became obvious the tank was leaking out of the covers. I dug up the cover to find the filter completely caked with nasty sludge… I won’t go into too much detail but it was awful. I spoke with the septic system installer and they explained depending on usage I might have to clean the filter every 3-6 months. So I cleaned that nasty filter and reinstalled. 3 month's later the tank was full again. I went through the nasty process again. 3 months later it was clogged again. So I tried this product. I would try anything to avoid digging up the tank or paying $250.00 for someone else to do it. I dumped a 6 month bottle of this down the toilet 6 months ago fully expecting to dig up the tank over that time but nothing…… no went tank, no signs of buildup nothing… I dug up the tank today fully expecting a nearly clogged filter that I’d have to clean. I COULD NOT BELIEVE MY EYES when I saw the filter that was without ANY of the built up sludge I’d seen in the past. This stuff legit works! I’m so confident in it that I won’t dig that tank up for at least another year. I’ll comment back in 12 months to update how it goes. UPDATE: It’s been 10 months since using this product and I am still blown away. There was very little particulates at all on the filter. I can’t believe how good it works and it has totally solved my filter clogging issue. I’ll attach the filter before and after shots. Be warned they are nasty.

Works very well!
I have a 50 year old original septic system. I’ve been in the house 16 years and have had my tanks pumped 3 or 4 times, 3-5 years between. I’ve used Rid-Ex and other treatments all along and when the time came to pump, there was always crust and about 2/3 full of thicker than water sludge in the first tank. The kids have been out of the house now for a few years and now it’s just me and the wife. She works from home for the past few years and goes through A LOT of toilet paper (how much does it take after a pee?!?) so I was worried last Fall when the time came to pump I’d find trouble. The previous pump out said there was a little back draining from the leach field. About 3 months before last Fall’s pump out I used Hot Rod. When you prepare it to pour in the toilet you KNOW this is something waaaay beyond Rid-Ex. So when it was time to pump, I wondered what I’d find. And was I amazed. I even thought I wasted my $400 to get it pumped. No sludge. No crust. No back drain from the field. And very little odor. Just a nice thin slurry of brown water. I’m a believer. I just added my 6 month treatment and have full confidence Hot Rod will keep my system going strong indefinitely. Thanks for peace of mind!!

Great Product
We bought a new house and noticed a smell in the back yard where the septic tank is located. Bought this treatment and used as directed and the smell was gone within two days. Being using every six months for over two years and no smell in the backyard.

Don't rush septic tank solutions, they don't happen overnight.
My septic system is 25 years old. It has never been pumped and I have used rid-x monthly since I moved in 3 years ago. My Leachfield started backing up and my septic tank started filling up and was draining very slowly. I Immediately had the tank pumped and bought Roebic and Green pigs and started using them. Using them and doing some extreme water conservation on my part kept the situation from getting worse. The drain pipe into the septic tank stayed about 1/4 to 1/2 full at all times depending on water usage in the house. After almost 5 months urinating in a jug, taking 30 second showers, and catching grey water from the kitchen an watering bushes with it, I bought Hot Rod. I poured it straight into my septic tank and then for the next 5 days I put a double dose of Bio-One in. Two days later I noticed that the water was below the pipe for the first time in almost a year. Since I rushed them I'm not sure which one actually did the job but I will use both Hot Rod and Bio-One at a maintenance level from now on. Full disclosure, I used Dr. Pooper field line cleaner alternatively. Like said in the title don't rush field line products but my septic system is running better and my septic tank level is below the house drain line level. I'm happy that it didn't cost me $10,000 replacing the lines! Update: it's been 18 months since I wrote the above. Everything was working good till it wasn't. I bought a lot of cheap stuff but the tank ;evel didn't go down till I started using Hot Rod and Bio One together.....

FRESH AIR MATTERS
THIS STUFF IS GREAT! I HAD A TO FREQUENT FOUL ODOR PROBLEM FROM THE HOUSE SEPTIC TANK THAT CAME UP THROUGH THE LINE AND OUT THE ROOF VENT THAT DRIFTED DOWN INTO THE YARD. IT USUALLY HAPPENED DURING HOT WEATHER DAYS AND AFTER A TOILET FLUSH. I HAVE OUR TANK PUMPED OUT REGULARLY. BUT AFTER A FEW MONTHS FROM TIME TANK BEING PUMPED OUT THE ODOR WOULD COME BACK. I HEARD ABOUT THIS STUFF, I THINK ON FACE BOOK, SO AFTER REVIEWING THE ADD I PLACED MY ORDER WITH AMAZON. IT ARRIVED QUICKLY AND WORKED AS DESCRIBED IN THE LISTING. MY PROBLEM WITH FOUL SPETIC TANK ODOR ENDED ALMOST IMMEDIATELY. WE CAN ENJOY BREATHING AGAIN. IT TOOK ABOUT 3 DAYS FOR TOTAL ODOR. DISAPPEARANCE. THE ODOR DIMINISHED DAILEY FROM THE DAY I PUT IT IN. I PUT HOTROD IN THE SYSTEM FLUSHING IT DOWN THE TOILET PER INSTRUCTIONS. CAN'T GET ANY EASIER THAN THAT. THE ODOR WAS GONE TOTALLY IN 3 DAYS. ODOR HAS NOT COME BACK SINCE. I SUBSCRIBED TO IT AND WILL BE PUTTING A DOSAGE IN THE TANK EVERY SIX MONTHS AS RECOMMENDED. THIS STUFF WORKS AND IT IS MADE IN THE U.S.A. IT IS WELL WORTH THE COST. I AM A HAPPY CAMPER HERE! (P. S, WITH ALL THE BACK AND FORTH POLITICAL RHETORIC FIYING AROUND THIS COUNTRY THESE DAYS THANK GOODNESS WE HAVE HOTROD SEPTIC TREATMENT TO HELP US KEEP THE SMELL OUT OF THE AIR.)

easy to use
easy to use, I purchased because it had alot of good reviews, will see how well it works. It's a tad pricier than other brands, but if it does a better job it's worth it!
