Windows 11 Inside Out Review: Worth the cost - This book has more than I expected to find in a tutorial book. I recommend it to professionals who need to understand the intricacies of Windows 11 or whop are in a support position where they have to teach or assist others who are overwhelmed by the new OS. Personally, the book saved me a lot of time after the install. I write a lot of software for embedded systems. The IDEs may not be Windows programs. Windows 11 has a feature that allows me to run LINUX and Android programs without the annoying reboots. The tips throughout the book are quick ways to get things done. Review: Great Windows 11 Book - This is a really thorough treatment of Windows 11. Ed Bott has always done a great job on his Windows operating system books. Bear in mind, this is not for beginners. He even states in the book that it is not for beginners. This book is for savvy computer users and techs like myself If you are looking for a book for beginners, there is one on desertcart called Windows 11 Computer Tips by Mike Fulford. That is for beginners.

Wish I had purchased this book prior to installing Windows 11
Book explains all setup options when installing Windows 11. For example, I didn’t know than Windows 11 could be set up with a local account (Microsoft cleverly hides that detail). So I set it with default settings which causes most applications to use OneDrive, which I did not want. Even if you attempt to use other folder paths, many applications will revert back to using OneDrive. You can try to change this default behavior, but it keeps coming back. It appears the only full solution is to reinstall Windows 11.

High Level Reference on Windows 11.
One of the Windows tools I use is PowerShell for renaming multiple files. When I transitioned from Windows 10, I got a well-known basic Windows 11 book, but it didn't go into PowerShell. Being touted as complete, "Windows 11 Inside Out" was my next try. The book was big (750 pages of text), and relatively densely written. It did have a chapter on PowerShell but didn't go into how to use it to rename files. When I googled what I wanted, the AI program there produced a very nice listing of the ways to change strings, add prefixes, or add suffixes to multiple files using PowerShell. My take on it is that "Windows 11 Inside Out" is a great reference for people wanting to work at a high level with Windows 11. The basic books are fine for those wanting to work with apps. If one is in-between, I'm not sure what book, if any, to recommend.
