when closed it is 4 inches long. The locking blade is a little over 3 inches not quite 3 1/4 inches. I have carried this style make and model for over 40 years . I have cut deer down to boneless pieces using only in a pinch. This is a nice locking single blade knife that keeps an edge and can be sharpened quickly. I recommend this knife to hunters and outdoor workers. I could not tell you how many time I was asked to borrow my knife.

does this say china on the blade?

on one side near hinge 1940T on other side near hinge is SCHRADE on the handle is printed OLD TIMER and on the blade release it has PRESS printed I have carried this style for 40+ years nice all around knife keeps a good edge

Is this really a Schrade? Mine just says Stainless steel

Unfortunately Schrade's manufacturing was moved from the U.S. to China. It's nicely made but the stainless steel blade isn't nearly as good as the U.S. made carbon steel blades.

El seguro va duro al principio, necesita que se desgaste la pletina de latón donde toca con la espiga para que funcione correctamente El acero empleado creo que es un 7CR17MOv, un acero chino de gama baja, viene bien afilada pero se desgastará rápido, la empuñadura es de plástico blando y las virolas son de alpaca. Ciertamente es bonita pero no es para según que trabajos, nada que ver con las originales que se fabricaban en USA desde los 50 del siglo pasado
