This is chelated to help increase bioavailability, and prevent the nausea and digestive discomfort commonly cause by Iron supplementation. Review: A great fully chelated supplement at a great price - This is an excellent product. I had surgery which resulted in blood loss and anemia. My iron levels were in the toilet and my hemoglobin was about 9.0, very anemic. My doc told me to start taking an iron supplement twice a day but upon researching it it seemed that taking a larger dose every other day would be more beneficial so I did that. I took three of these tablets every other day on an empty stomach and with one capsule of Doctors Best 1000mg vitamin C (Yes I am a big fan of this brand). Within two months my hemoglobin was up to 14.2 and my iron levels were at low normal. I feel so much better. Doc told me to keep doing what I’ve been doing for another 3 months to fully replenish my iron stores. This. is not medical advice nor am I saying that this is what you should do, I’m just telling you what happened to me.
Review: Actually Works!!! - On my yearly bloodwork I was told I was low on iron in both compartments that store iron in your body. Something about the main supply and backup supply in your body. Anyway, I was told by my doc to take iron for 6 months and we’ll do another test to see if I’m iron deficient/anemic. Got my bloodwork done after 6 months and my iron levels have now gone back to normal! Never took iron pills before but I researched these since they said chelated and wanted to gain more knowledge. I usually take one pill in the morning with water and sometimes with some OJ about a hour before breakfast. Never had any issues. The pills are small so they’re easy to swallow. Only “negative” would be they kind of taste funny if you don’t drink enough water with it but that’s okay since they actually work.

**Q: Is this Heme iron**
A: It says on the label  “from Ferrochel, Ferrous bisglycinate chelate”. It also has other ingredients like cellulose, glycerin, vegetable sources etc. Nowhere do I see “heme iron”

A: I had to google “halal” so forgive me if I don’t answer your question in the way you need. I can tell you, from looking at the bottle ingredients, they claim to be vegan. I hope this answers your question properly.
