Astronomy: A Beginner's Guide to the Universe (7th Edition)

Great! Needed this book for a summer class in Astronomy. At my school, the class is in the Physics department. I was super nervous to take the class as I don't do well in mathematics, but this book made the course easier to understand and grasp! Great diagrams and examples inside! I had taken an Astronomy class in the past- well, the same class- and didn't get the grade I needed for my program. That book wasn’t as helpful as this one due to the fact it talked more in the physics department than in the descriptive astronomy for beginners. I prefer this book and will be keeping it for future use in my future career.

My professor for AST1002 recommended the 8th edition of this text but it was significantly more expensive, so me being super cheap, I rented this edition. If you prefer reading the textbook instead of going to lectures, this text is sufficient. Chapters are not very lengthy and I found the review sections at the end of each one to be quite helpful. I read the assigned chapters the night before the respective exams and got an A on all of them as well as in the course.

I really enjoyed this book. I rented because I didn't realize how much I'd like astronomy, wish I had just bought it. Lots of good info. Loses a star for me simply for a terrible reference in the back of the book.

Wonderful textbook for all astronomy-lovers or those taking an intro to astronomy course! Filled with the fundamentals as well as in-depth explanations, diagrams, and images. Great learning resource.

For required college reading, this was one of the best science text books I've ever had. The content was easy to understand for the most part, and flowed well from chapter to chapter. It was written in 2013, so it does need updating due to all the events that occurred just the summer of 2015 alone (i.e. Pluto flyby). Otherwise, great astronomy text book!

A thorough examination of our universe. What a great book to learn about astrology. I had this textbook because I took a class, but I wish that I would have kept it or bought a copy for myself personally. Such a fascinating Universe we live in!

Got a book where the cover was almost falling off and it fell off after a few days so I had to tape it on and contact Amazon... super annoying.

This book is just so lovely. It has been written in view of people who are new to astronomy. It has multiple images which make reading interesting. It's meant for beginners but when you'll read it thoroughly you'll become advanced in this subject.

More than expected. Explanatory in nature, hd photos and diagram on each and every page. Worth buying for students interested in astronomy and are beginners
