Review: WOW - I wasn't expecting much for under $30, but I am blown away. This took 100% of the hum and whine away from my high gain overdrive loop. The gate has a slight delay at the tail end that's noticeable when you're just listening to yourself, but it's imperceptible in a mix. The only other downside is that it eats into my sustain just a bit, but I'd so much rather have less sustain and zero noise than have full sustain and a cacophony of humming and whining.

For the cost and functionality, it's pretty difficult to complain about the Rowin noise gate pedal. I mainly use this pedal when using distortion, and it does a pretty good job of reducing hiss. When stacking distortion with overdrive, I noticed the gate tended to cause signal decay quickly, so I had to tweak it a little to find a sweet spot, which took around ten minutes. Once I found the sweet spot for my set up, I tested it with my modulation pedals as well, and I had no issues. The compact size of the noise gate pedal is also a huge plus for gigging. I prefer a lightweight, compact pedal board, so this pedal is perfect for my needs. The pedal require 12v power, pretty much standard for the majority of guitar pedals on the market. I use a typical 12v power supply, and the Rowin noise gate works with it just fine. This is a solid pedal for any musician looking for a compact, inexpensive noise gate.
