Fits and works like a Motorcraft part
The usual Motorcraft quality, as far as I can tell so far.. Let's see if it'll last 208,000 miles like the original did. (fyi: the oem unit never failed, but the plastic thermostat housing warped requiring replacement of all parts in the offending area) I used the aluminum thermostat housing from SimmonsAutosportz. Superb quality on that part..

Description for vehicle fitment was incorrect for the year, make,and model. Not installed and returned.

Correct part for 2004 Explorer 4.0 K-Flex
Check engine (money) light came on. Scan says engine not coming up to temperature. Makes sense as I haven't had good heat for about 3 years and my temp gauge only rose a little bit above ice cold. Replaced thermostat, replaced gasket (doesn't come with thermostat - part # 35617 Fel-Pro) and did not reset the check engine light. I should have done this 3 years ago - heat was on in 3 minutes instead of 20! Gauge now rises to below center. Ran the full drive cycle (I assume, took a week..) and the check engine light went out. Awesome!

Great calibration
Temp is good. The year old stant was supposed to be 190 degrees F, but was mismarked and only gave 176 degrees F. This Motorcraft thermostat is exactly correct.

Genuine Ford thermostat
Hello this thermostat is a genuine Ford part that fit my 2001 sport trac 4.0l works proper and maintains between 188and 191 deg F. Vehicle warn up faster . Been testing for 3 weeks in cold Canada.

2009 4l ranger works perfectly
Just got mine put in, Fixed my low coolant temp issu, now she comes back to normal operating temp.
