I don't know what infernal (or divine) source crafted this concoction. I don't think mortal man was capable. Regardless... this stuff is much akin to a perfectly spiced Velveeta in texture, taste, and nutritional quality. It is a food-like substance that enhances (greatly) and cracker, bread, or macaroni (if you're feeling frisky). It is also very very salty. For me, being in the military, this brings back great memories of opening up the rare MRE and finding this gem inside. People would trade me three bags of M&M's/Skittles for this puppy, it's so good. Now, you can have the joy of this evil lil treat in the comfort of your own home, far from the echoes of gunfire and stink of dug latrines. If you're feeling frisky, take your family camping, dig your own latrine, and then bust out a bag of these cheez packets to relive the "good ol' days" all over again.

First, the Cheese Jalapeno is just right - not too spicy, but enough to wake up taste buds. Really good flavor. The cheese is much better than the canned stuff that we used to squirt on crackers. Given the choice between this, the canned stuff or any of the Emergency Bars, I'll choose this every time. Put some on a Triscuit and family will not know this is a MRE-type food. It's obviously great for Preparedness, but also long trips, hiking/camping and related activities. A few tubes of this and some Pilot Bread and you are good to go!

Now, maybe proclaiming this as the best of the shelf stable cheeses is a low bar to clear, but that doesn't reduce how good this stuff is. As light snacks go, the jalapeno cheese is quite tasty, especially at room temperature. The pouch is small enough to easily carry in a pocket or purse, but big enough to season a large sandwich. It's great on something as simple as crackers, or as hearty as a bagel. I have loved both the convenience and the flavor of these little pouches of cheesy goodness. Camping, hiking or simply snacking in bed have all proven convenient places to enjoy the jalapeno cheese. No, it does not taste like real cheese, but it's still an excellent flavoring for otherwise bland foods

It appears to be old enough to require mixing in the pouch before using. Bright ted and green streaks in the base yellow from the ingredients. Very salty. Just like mama never made, because she loved me and wanted me to eat right. But I love the stuff. My wife calls it a plastic food product. But it is ready when I am, like Twinkies. Great in moderation and in a high sweat environment, like Texas. Salt in, salt out.

Not sure what all the negative reviews are about. Maybe they are people that have actually never eaten a real MRE before. The reviews I have read state that it is not the real deal. Well for me. I am a retired Marine. Have had my fair share of MRE’s. My favorite snack was alway the jalapeño cheese spread. We would trade it for a pack of cigarettes or whatever we had to get it. Most Marines would agree. I can tell you that this is the real deal. Just received my second order and it is the same both times. The real stuff. Not out dated. Tastes great. I munched a lot of these when I was in the military. IMHP, some of the best cheese spread on the planet :)

I got these finally, because a friend told me about it a couple years ago during the lockdowns. They said it was a great snack to have with crackers or just by itself. I had one package yesterday just as a standalone snack & the flavor was great. It wasn't too spicy, & it had a mild amount of heat so even if you are someone who doesn't like a lot of heat in your foods, this is a snack with just the right amount of heat which adds to the flavor.
