Maerd P6 Multitool

After owning several low priced multi tools, this on is the best quality one by far.

For the money, so far this is a very nice quality multi-tool that is easy to operate and use. No issues this far, all tools open, close & function with nice tight operational tolerances and no binding or looseness. (I have about 6 Leatherman multitools and several others including Gerber. I am a General Contractor and Carpenter = So I use these tools and they do not just sit in a closet, nor ride on a belt & rarely-used or unused)

Overall this is a decent multi-tool but you just have to know you're not getting a top quality product. An equivalent Leatherman of this type would probably run you $80-$120, depending on model. But this tool is pretty big and robust, so you'd probably be on the higher end of the Leatherman scale. So for a third of the price, this is a decent deal. It has all the basic tools you could probably want or expect. The pliers are spring loaded, unlike my Leatherman Rebar (little smaller tool) and the scissors were surprisingly tight crisp when cutting cardboard. That all being said, this thing is heavy...it's kinda built like a tank and it definitely has some weight to it. Great it if you're throwing in the truck or tool box, etc....maybe something to consider if wearing on your belt (my Rebar is more compact, light and easier to carry on your person). All of the smaller tools require you to open the pliers to access them, be that's to be expected. All tools have a lock out feature for safety and all that works pretty well. Overall it seems built well and is nice for the price, I just don't think the quality is TOP notch....but it is respectable.

August 2, 2022 3 stars This is my second update. So I wanted to swap positions on the pocket clip. However, the metal on the pivot screws is simply too soft as they started stripping even though I was slowly turning the wrench. I did not proceed further since I have no back-up screws. I will still rate this tool 3 stars for now. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- August 1, 2022 3 stars This is an update on my initial review. Well, after less than a week of breaking in the tool (not using it for any tasks or jobs), the handles have begun to show considerable flex and wobble. It is very noticeable when opening any of the outer tools, such as the blade, as the handles will shift resulting also in a clicking noise from the inner tools rubbing against eachother. Pondering whether to return for refund. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- July 26, 2022 First of all, I am rating this multitool 4 stars only because it was very recently received. But so far I like the tool set. And all the tools lock firmly when engaged. The handles are aligned and the plier jaws have no play. The included pocket clip is very useful if you forgo the sheath. However, the saw is a bit sticky or stiff to open and close. Perhaps that will loosen up with use over time (I will refrain from loosening the screws in the meantime just to see). The other thing to note is that both the saw and scissor tend to slide out a bit when opening the handles. The overall build quality appears to be excellent. Time will tell as to durability.

This is better than I expected for this price. It's heavy, sturdy, strong and beautiful. The knife comes sharp enough to shave with. I lost my Leatherman so I got this. I will never buy another Leatherman after using this multi tool. It's amazing.

I could have purchased a more expensive model but every review said this was just as nice and feature rich as a model that costs more than twice. Not disappointed. This is REALLY nice , very good craftsmanship.

As far as value this is a great value. If you’re expecting leatherman surge quality you wont get that but its decent. All the tools function as they were intended. The blade came extremely sharp. My two complaints are when the tool is closed there is far to much back and forth movement in the handles. And for the size of the tool I expected the actual plier head to be far bigger. They are quite a bit smaller then even the the plier head on my small leatherman wingman.
