Both use 25% non-nano zinc oxide (the most allowed), but whereas the Stick (the product you're asking about) has inactive ingredients of certified organic coconut oil and significant amounts of certified organic beeswax (making it very thick and extremely water/sweat resistant), along with certified organic cocoa for color, the facial/everyday formula has Spring Water and certified organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Jojoba Oil and Shea Butter, along with Vegetable Glycerine, Vegetable Emulsifying Wax (from coconuts), Non-GMO Vegetable Vitamin E (non-GMO from sunflower seeds), and natural Iron Oxides for color (both our tints can stain clothing, by the way). These ingredients are extremely moisturizing, while the stick ingredients are moderately moisturizing. In short, if you're going to be in high-sweat activities like running, yard work, biking, surfing/swimming in direct sun, then the stick formula (which far exceeds the FDA's max 80-minute water resistance rating) is the best choice, but if you're simply "out and about" and not sweating during a "normal" day and you want maximum moisturizing, then the facial/everyday is better. However, this is based on FDA directives mainly concerned with the effective life of petrochemicals in common sunscreens. You have to rub it into your skin. It won’t apply like deodorant. Don’t expect it to look like make-up with the tint in it. The tint simply minimizes the stark white of the zinc. You will look pale when it’s on. But if you don’t care what others think, you will be just fine. We use it for lake boating and skiing. It stays one well. Life is not a fashion show for us, so this product is just fine to wear on our face. It smells good, like slightly sweetened cocoa. It is hard to wash off in the shower at the end of the day. It goes on thick enough to give good coverage, rubs in well so you don't look like a ghost, and doesn't feel greasy. I used it primarily on the child's face, under the eyes and on the nose- too spots that just seemed to burn no matter how often others were applied. I reapplied after a lengthy time in the water and had success for a burn-free day. Because I use a rash guard I didn't apply it to other areas but I have no doubt it would work great for your hard to keep burn-free areas. I would try one of their other products for full-body coverage if I needed it. I will definitely be buying this product again. Did I mention it's non-toxic and none of the ingredients sound scary either? The cost is more than other options BUT so worth it as it goes a long ways and actually gets the job done!
