How big is each cell? What size rock wool cube could I fit in the cell?

Each cell is about the size of a small egg cup. I've not used rock wool cubes before and can't really say how they would fit. From what I have seen on a Google search, rock wool plugs look as though they would be suitable. I have found the Garland Propagators very handy and cheap. I simply fill the cells with a seeding compost, put in a seed per cell, add another thin layer of compost, and spray with water.

Are these plastics durable? Will they be blown away?

Tray is PET material, at least it doesn't crack easily and the plastic is thicker than other stores. When I received it, the seed trays were not any damage. If you unfortunately receive a bad product, I suggest you contact customer service. Anyway, it's only plastic. I won't have too much expectations for this price.

How sturdy are the planting trays without the base?

The planting trays are pretty flexible, not flimsy though,you can't destroy them.The trays seem sturdy enough that I should get 3 or 4 years of service out of them at least

Does the tray have holes in?

The green base tray has no holes, the clear partitioned tray has a hole in each compartment.
