This is well made. PIR sensor has a good range of adjustments. Worth noting is that light emits from the rear and top edge as well as the front.

Use it on the front of my house, by the front door. Sensor is brilliant and you can adjust how bright you want it.

I have always bought Phillips lights. They are invariably a bit more expensive but they are usually well designed and a bit more stylish. The light looks nice when you take it out of the box. It is nicely styled and the glass shade and aluminium cover have a reassuring weight to them. The first thing that you note is that the light does not come with a bulb. The lamp is designed to work with a screw in "Mr Whippy" style flourecent bulb. Why on earth don't they recommend an LED light bulb like the rest of the planet? The light might work with an LED bulb but this is not mentioned in the instructions. The aspect of this light that is totally exasperating is the manner in which the light shade and cover is held in place by two tiny screws about 5mm in length. The screw has to be inserted through the outer shade and aligned with a small hole in the back plate. Stood on a step ladder on a cold day this is riddiculously difficult. If you drop the screw it will bounce and you will never see it again. With this very obvious risk in mind you would think that Phillips would supply a few spares but no they don't. You need two screws and that's all you get. How much is a small screw, a penny? In summary, the light looks very attractive and when you remove it frm the box you will congratulate yourself on your purchase. On a freezing day in December, balanced on a step ladder your enthusiasm for this light will rapidly disappear.

This light is advertised as max 12W E27 LED bulb. When I tried to assemble the front of the light to the back, which was attached to a wall, the two parts would not go together correctly. After several attempts I found that the traditional shaped LED bulb was too large and was preventing the two halves fitting correctly. I contacted the supplier to ask what type of bulb is recommended, through Amazon and through the Phillips web site support, but I am still waiting for a reply three days later. I am not aware of any LED E27 above 6W that is not the traditional tungsten bulb shape so this light will only be capable of a fairly dim light, not what you want for security purposes. The screws holding the light together are very small and fiddley.

I bought a second one of these recently as the first failed after around 5 years. I have found that the bulbs recommended are discontinued and they are impossible to source even non-philips brands.

Bought one, it stopped working 2 years later, Phillips sent a replacement, now 2 years later it’s stopped working. Nice lamp but keeps failing. Nor reliable.
