Really helps quiet and even out Shurflo pump
I've had a small Shurflo AC pump in my shallow tile well for years. I simply hung the pump on paracord into the well and could never figure out how to attach one of those round 1-gallon accumulator tanks to the pump without putting some sort of wooden platform into the well, which would not be food grade...stainless steel seemed expensive, and how to put stainless legs on it in the well or suspend the platform ? ...I saw this little accumulator tank recently and was chopping vegetables on my poly cutting board and thought 'hey I could mount both of those on a cutting board like this and hang the both of them into the well together !'. It is small and light enough, can work horizontally or vertically, the same as the pump, and I wouldn't have to find any special couplings because it's all the same threads as the pump I already had working.I bought a Farberware 12 by 18 inch 1/4 inch thick poly cutting board on Amazon for 10 bucks, and attached the coupled pump and tank to board by marking mounting holes, drilling like a wood board, and 'sewing' the pump and tank on to the board with skinny paracord (which is incredibly strong, abrasion-resistant, doesn't hold moisture or mold, wouldn't potentially vibrate loose like stainless nuts and bolts, and was already on hand for hanging the whole deal into well.)It is small but has really made a difference in how my pump runs! It's quiet now (maybe too quiet -- I left water running and forgot about it) and there's no more bursts of water when I turn on the tap or cycling of the pump when I reduce the pressure of the pump to avoid bursts of water. Wish I had figured out how to mount it in my shallow well application years ago.One criticism: When I bought this a couple months ago it was advertised as being pre-pressurized to 30 lbs; but it came completely unpressurized, which the instructions said was due to shipping regulations. It was easy enough to pressurize at the gas station with the tire attachment, but it would have been nice to know I was going to have to do that before starting to hook it up.

Quality item.
Works very well with the shurflo pump on my rv. Before I installed it the pump would come on for a couple seconds every 30 seconds or so and hit hard on the last pump (copper plumbing is not elastic). Now that has stopped and the pump doesn't come on at all until a faucet is opened. The system holds pressure indefinitely and never did before. It was necessary to set the pressure right - a little below the shut off pressure of the pump. It came depressurized. If the pressure is set too high it's just like it wasn't there. A good improvement to my water system. As others have said, it does not come with hose barbs - rather shurflo's bridge connector between it and the pump. My pump had hose barbs on both ends, so I removed the output one and put it on the tank. Included in the package was the connector that goes between pump and tank. These have wings on them and get turned hand tight and seal very well.To make the system more compact and fit better into my space I ordered a right angle hose barb for the pump input. Shurflo has a number of adapters to choose from.

Quiets pump
This is easy to install and quiets pump down considerably. It gives you a few seconds between pump cycles which doesn't sound like much but consider if you cut 2 cycles out every few seconds how many less cycles the pump has to do. The reason for 4 stars is because I was hoping for a little more time between cycles.

Worked as an RV accumulator tank and water pump noise suppressor for me
This thing is great. First it has stopped all of my pump surges when I try to run a small amount of water or a small flow of water. The pump will still come on but not until you use the 7 ounces of store water under pressure held in the tank. The second thing that worked out for me was the way I installed it. By chance I had just enough room on the outlet side of my pump for installation. Using the double coupling that came with the tank installation was fast and easy, and leak free first try. Because the tank connection port height was lower than my pump outlet I used 2 pieces of rigid plastic tube to raise the height of the tank and screws long enough to extend through the mount of the tank, the length of the plastic tube and 1 inch into the wood below. I went in the RV to check and see how this thing was going to work. Not only did it work like an accumulator tank should, but because of the way I mounted it, it removed 90% of my water pump noise. I love it. Just as a side note I used the factory pressure and have had no problems from the low lying areas of the Atlantic Coast to the heights of the Rocky Mountains.

Multiple tanks?
I installed one of these in my off-the-grid cabin water system along with an RV pump and it worked okay. I noticed slightly less pump cycling and was not overly impressed. I had alot of "pulsating" when i took a shower. Since then I asked if anyone had used more than one and to my surprise nobody has tried to use more than one accumulator. So i figured i would try it. I now have a total of 3 of these little tanks in my system in different places. One is after my water filter but before my 10 gallon water heater. Then another one after the water heater on my hot water line and another one about 10' feet down my cold water line. Im amazed at the steady pressure from my faucets and no more pulsating from my shower head. Steady flow like city water pressure at my house in the city. I also noticed that i have good water flow when I open the faucet for a while before the pump kicks on. I did accidently ordered one of the tanks with female connections and it took alot of teflon tape to keep it from leaking from both connections. I will probably swap it out soon for the tank with the male connections. Another thing that i noticed was that the pressure the tank had in it was only 20 psi. I filled them all up to 35 psi and all is good

Quiet water line. Stops rattle.
I got it to stop rattling of water lines in my RV. It works perfectly. Absorbs the vibration in the bladder of the tank. The install is totally dependent on each RV campers water pump position and mounting. It could be a simple 5 minute install In my case I had to cut out a piece of moulding to get it to fit. Was an hour to get it in.Another issue is the initial pressure setting. The directions are vague and does not really give any good details how to pump up the tank.I ended up using a bike foot pump. Pumped it up to 45 lbs. Then put a pressure gauge on it, turned on pump and opened faucet and while slowly letting pressure out listened to pipes. When it was a purr I stopped. Turned out to be the pressure they recommended of 30-35 lbs.Now I can not only turn on water without rattle, the pump does not even turned on for the first quart.Bottom line is it works great.

Works very well as advertised
After the simple installation, there is No More water surging in the camper. Smooth operation and the pump runs with less cycling. However, the unit arrives with No pre-charged Pressure as stated in the instructions that came with it. You have to pre-charge it on the rear charging valve. I pumped mine up to 35-PSI and all works great !!
User
Works well, does what it is described to do.
I like what it does for the system, I had considered adding an expansion tank similar to what is on my RO filter system in my home. When looking I saw that SHURflo has a product that does what I was looking for. I will say I would have liked a larger tank for more quiet flow at night, which is why I started looking in the first place. The compromise of small for RV means it doesn't really deliver enough pump-off flow for toilet flushes, in my experience any way.

Easy to install, improves steady pressure and pump doesn't run near as often. Be sure to inflate it first as it comes at zero psi. But it inflates very quickly so don't overdo it.

Such a tiny investment for the great results!
I though about it for some time, wasn't sure about the usefullness of this thing but wow, turned out to be one of those great buy!!!Installation was easy but I however couldn't use the included "pump to tank adapter". I installed it away with some breaded nylon hose to further isolate the pulses of the pump! It allowed me to make my original noisy thing next to silent! Can't hear it now with regular conversation, have to actually listen to it to notice when it starts!!! It's also cool at night after a quick pee to be able to flush and wash you hands without the need for the pump to start! We love it!
