I have seen these for a while now but never really bothered or wanted one but I am currently collecting several things for my craft room in the event I may need them....this I bought for a different purpose to using for the keyrings although I intend to actually make those at some point when I have time. I will be using them for what I have seen suggested In some sewing groups and that is to use the pliers to flatten the bulky layers of fabric/leather before sewing. I have at times used a hammer to flatten them so they are flattened and levelled for sewing over and getting neat top stitching. These aren't the easiest to hold if you have arthritis or problems with your hands as you have to squeeze really hard to flatten the leather but I find they don't damage the leather/vinyl like a hammer does....and does the job! Obviously putting a cloth barrier between the pliers and the project first. The reason for not buying the pliers alone is that having spent some time researching best value items like I do, I found that the cheapest to buy these for was over £10, whereas buying this set it was just another £5 for all the hardware too...which I say, I will get around to using at some point. The only thing I find is that they have included only 4 each of the rainbow and black and more of the other metal colours. Would have been great if more of those but for the price of the set it is very good value. Some people have commented on the black and grease that comes off these...like many other tools/steel items I have bought, it is only natural and before using, just give the pliers a good wiping over and all the black easily comes away and they are as shiny as a pin! Definitely recommended and I look forward to using them.

Quite a few were rusty, I didn't have a choice but to go through and select the ones that were ok as I needed to use them and couldn't wait for a replacement if I sent them back.
