## Description

Customers the world-over use the Pinkinest to help new violin students with their bow position. The Pinkinest is a durable, simple-to-use bow accessory which is helpful in teaching beginners how to obtain a better bow hold. It is very easy to attach to a student bow.

Review: Bow Hold Training Wheels! - Think of this as training wheels for your bow hold technique. I’m just starting to learn violin, and one thing I have learned is that a correct bow hold is absolutely essential to work on, right from the start. Practicing improper bow hold can set you back for months, and you will be forced to “un-learn” the incorrect bow hold. I am fully aware of the proper bow hold, with bent fingers, but unfortunately, while practicing, my fingers were tending to slip around, and my pinky was not staying in place. And then I discovered this little device, which works like magic to keep that unruly pinky in place, thus keeping the other fingers in line, giving me the freedom to focus on arm bowing technique from the elbow, finger placement on the fingerboard, and elevator positions to play each string separately. Once you have the pinky nested into this device, it sits very comfortably, in bent position, on the top of the frog, and does not move from there. It even encourages the rest of the fingers to curve correctly and place correctly over the bow. The pinkinest itself is made of soft, flexible acrylic, and it is very easy to install on the bow. You simply slip it on over the screw and push it toward the frog. It automatically stops in the correct place. The nest part fits an adult finger very well. Since it is flexible acrylic, I think it would fit just about any size pinky. This is definitely a great thing to have, if you are starting out on violin.
Review: Excelent pinky rest (Must buy). - It's a good product to learn how to have a straight pinkie (Fourth finger) or even be more conscious of when the finger is on the bow. It's good for beginners and also intermediate students.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: its only for kids?**
A: Fits mine. I'm 6 ft. Best thing about it is it lets you stay focused on your bow hold.

**Q: Does it work on cello bow? Im an noob.**
A: With a cello bow, the location of the pinky finger isn't really crucial, but the position of the thumb is very important. I started playing cello 2 years ago, at the age of 61. My arthritic hands got very tired and sore holding the bow. I found the Stringvision Bow Grip to be quite useful, in fact I'm back to buy a new one for each bow because I just plain wore them out. It's a rubber-looking sleeve that stretches over the bow grip and cushions the point where your thumb has a death-grip on the bow.

**Q: Will this fit on a 1/16 bow for a 3years old?**
A: Yes. I used it on my child's bow when she was very small. She used a 1/16 and a 1/10 and it was fine for either.

**Q: Would this help with a double jointed pinky?**
A: Not sure, but it helps guide the correct positioning so I would definitely still use it.
