Simple, small, yet strong enough to cut 1/2 inch bolts easy. It's a pain to set up a corded makita when you have just a small job. This unit is perfect for that and easy to store and handle.

Bosch 12V is one of my favorite tool platforms. I started building my Bosch 12V collection about four years ago when I purchased their drill set with multiple attachments. That drill quickly became one of my favorite tools, and I still use it all the time. I am a DIY enthusiast who enjoys fixing and building things around my house. I am also a doctor by profession, so I don't necessarily need heavy-duty professional tools for my everyday projects. What I really value is having compact, lightweight tools that are easy to grab and use whenever I need them. That is exactly where the Bosch 12V platform shines. This angle grinder uses a 3-inch disc and, importantly, comes with a brushless motor. With a 2.0Ah battery attached, the entire tool remains surprisingly lightweight and easy to maneuver. It is not intended to replace a full-size professional angle grinder for heavy-duty work, but for smaller household and DIY projects, I think it is an excellent choice. I have already used it for several projects, including cutting off excess portions of nails, making a hole for an HVAC duct, and cutting off extra portions of a fence. It handled all of these jobs very well. I have found the Bosch 3-inch grinding and cutting discs to be a particularly good match for this tool, and they have lasted a long time in my use. The compact size is probably the biggest advantage. You can easily get into tight spaces where a larger angle grinder would be difficult or uncomfortable to maneuver. I can see this being useful not only for DIY enthusiasts but also for professionals who occasionally need a small grinder for work in confined areas. There are a couple of things I would like Bosch to improve. First, there is no variable-speed control; it is essentially an on/off operation. Second, you have to continuously hold the switch while operating the grinder. I understand the safety reasoning behind this design, but after using it for a longer cutting job, holding the switch continuously can become tiring, especially while simultaneously controlling the tool and the material. Some other Bosch tools have a hold-on switch, so I would personally like to see an option like that in a future revision, while still maintaining the necessary safety features. Despite that minor limitation, I am very impressed with this grinder. The combination of a brushless motor, 12V battery platform, 3-inch disc, compact size, and lightweight design makes it extremely useful for everyday DIY work. Overall, this is not a tool I would recommend for someone who needs to perform heavy-duty grinding or cutting all day. But for household repairs, small fabrication projects, cutting nails, trimming metal, HVAC-related work, and other occasional jobs, it is an excellent tool. If you are already invested in the Bosch 12V ecosystem, I think this is a very worthwhile addition. I would definitely recommend it to DIY enthusiasts and professionals who need a compact grinder for tight spaces.
