It also flaked off in tiny blue colored chards. I have never had this happen before with any sealer. Water based sealer should never actually cause metal leaf to tarnish. It’s supposed to prevent tarnish! I used the same metal leaf I have used many times before with Speedball sealer. This should never happen with a proper sealer.
