I've had this puzzle for a long time and used it extensively and it has held up well so the build quality is quite good. It's stickerless too so no worrying about stickers peeling off. Overall it's definitely easier than a 3x3 since you can only do half turns on vertical layers which reduces the number of possible combos, but you will need to learn some new algorithms as a lot of 3x3 algorithms will not work.
