NO it is 5 1/2 inches around....it is 1x magnification on one side (normal) and 5x mag on other side...it is a great little mirror not heavy and works as advertised hope this helps

Could this be hung from a nail/hook on the wall?

eh maybe a hook but it has kind of a stand on it. if you close the hook a bit it should stay up
