I sprayed inside the coupler, making sure that the lube gets on all moving parts. This product reminds me a lot of the slide out lube I used 20+ years ago when I was an RV tech; that's not a bad thing. The lube should stay where you spray it. So far it makes hitching up these trailers much easier. I also sprayed it on my scissor leveling jacks, and they are moving much more smoothly now.
