Great litter box!
Love my CATLINK ProX! Like most cat owners, I hate scooping the litter box. After being diagnosed with cancer and going thru treatment. I had zero energy to do basic household tasks - enter CATLINK. Easy to set up and connect to my home internet, I was instantly in love with the auto-empty feature, and preventative functions to ensure my cats safety. After trying both Pretty Litter and regular clumping litter, I prefer using Pretty Litter with it. My girls have no issue hopping in or out, and I genuinely believe they love the experience it provides for them - always clean and ready for use. I purchased in Feb 2024 and had zero issues for 14 months. Then, out of the blue it stopped connecting to the app (but I could still empty it via the onboard controls) - enter Patrick from customer service. He provided me with consistent and timely emails and phone calls, checking in when I'd get busy with life and forget to respond. His patience and kindness have me hooked as a customer for life. It's refreshing to see a company that cares about it's customers and their pets. Ultimately, the CATLINK PROX has been wonderful for us, and comes at a great price compared to the market competition. Buy it, you won't regret your decision.

Love my Luxury Pro!
First of all, CATLINK’s customer service has been great. I bought the Luxury Pro, and ended up initially getting a defective unit. CATLINK replaced it with no problem. My Luxury Pro has been a fantastic addition to my cat-care routine. I love that it is easy to use, relatively easy to clean, and I am able to go 3-5 days between bag changes. I do recommend getting the additional step, especially if you have an old or fat cat.

Amazing Big Time Saver!
I have had this litter bot for more than a year now and it has been working wonderfully for my 1 cat! I’m very satisfied with it! --------------- PROS: - Many self-cleaning options: You can set it to automatically clean every x amount of time, or x amount of time after your cat went, or manual if you’re scared of your cat getting stuck. There’s also an empty option to empty out the soiled litter to clean out the robot. - Good Sensor: I tested by putting my foot where the tray and dome meet when it’s cleaning and it was able to detect my feet even when the machine barely touched it! It also backed out when it detected it hit something. I think it also detects when a cat is peeking into it as well since I noticed it stopped when my cat pokes his head a bit far to look inside. - Easy to Clean: It’s very easy to take apart to clean the dome. The top hood and the base can’t be sprayed with water according to the manual, so you can just wipe those down. - App tracking: The app can tell you when the tray is full, when filter needs replacement, when litter needs replacement, when your cat pooped/peed, your cat’s weight, and the environment in the litter box. It can also detect multiple cats but I only have 1 so not too sure about that. - No Smell: It significantly decreased the smell when compared to my old open litter box! It still depends greatly on the quality of your litter though, as I bought cheaper litter and it smelled. - Cat Approved: it was very easy for my cat to transition into using this litter robot! Might depend on the cat though. CONS: - Hard to move around/carry: If you need to move this around, it will be very hard because of its round shape. It’s difficult to move it around without it tipping or falling. This is probably a 2 person item. - App tracking can be misleading at times: I noticed that sometimes it showed him peed when he actually pooped, and pooped when he actually peed… so I don’t think I would trust this too much, but the rest seems accurate. - Big & bulky: It’s pretty big and I sometimes move between houses along with my cat, so sometimes I wished I got a smaller one so I can put it in my car. But that’s alright, since I bought a regular closed litter box to move around when I’m away from my main place. - Litter can get stuck on the ceiling & crevices inside the robot: This happens when it spins, and it also has some screws in there that I noticed can be a soiled litter magnet. I would recommend cleaning the dome by itself with a hose every few weeks to prevent this. - May require stairs for the cat: I feel like the entrance is a little high up, so This is probably not ideal for older cats unless you buy them the stairs. My cat is not old but I bought him a stepping stool to help, which is a lot more affordable than the brand’s stairs. --------------- The cons I listed weren’t particularly deal breakers for me since I mostly cared about how it cleans and its safety features for my cat! Tips: It was easy for my cat to transition to the new litter robot, but here are some tips. I put his old litter into the new robot so it has his scent on it. I put it where his old litter box was. I also carried him to it and placed him inside to smell it. Lastly, I sat with him while he was looking at it when it’s cleaning so he knows that it’s harmless. Overall, I would 100% recommend this self-cleaning litter robot!

Works great but pee sticks
First of all, I absolutely love having this litter robot and it has made my life so much easier. I don’t have to scoop and bag all the time, just change the bag when I change the litter, around every 10 days (my cat is very finnicky about that). I know that if I have to go out of town for a weekend, she will have clean litter rather than waste building up in her litter, and I don’t have to get someone to change the litter for her. Plus it is generally good at keeping the scent from being too bad. I also love that it weighs her so I can keep an eye on her health that way easier. It’s pretty quiet, more of a white noise whirring for the most part if anything, so the noise has not been an issue at all in the 6 months I’ve had it. However, the pee tends to stick in clumps and if not manually scraped, these clumps eventually break up and make the litter get dirty faster, and smaller clumps can very easily slide through the grate and not get dumped out. This is a combination of my weirdo cat sitting on the very edge of the box to pee and the liner not being great at detaching the pee clumps. Another note, I’ve started occasionally getting ad notifications on the app. Just two one day and no more before or since, but I hope that doesn’t continue, as I paid for the device and do not need or want random ads from my cat litterbox.

Company stands by their product and it shows.
*Update* The company reached out to me and sent a replacement litter box. I have had zero problems with the new one. I was able to sync to the app right away and completed set up in no time. We have had zero errors so far and the cats are thrilled with it. I think a little too much as I get notified every time they enter and well they enter a lot lol. I put the product up to 5 stars from 2 because the company went out of their way to handle the problem and quickly. And the product is great I’m so happy with it now. I think the other one had to be damaged in transit or something. But this litter box is amazing and I would highly recommend it to anyone. The company stands by their product and that speaks volumes to me as a consumer. *Old* I ordered this cat box February 13th 2025 I can’t tell you how the app part works because I was never able to get it to sync. I followed the instructions and I even contacted the company in which I received no help. I was told to follow additional trouble shooting steps. Which I did but it fixed nothing. So I just gave up on syncing the app because it wasn’t why I bought it in the first. In April the machine started to stop mid turn and had to be restarted, then it started doing this daily, then multiple times a day. Then we started having trouble getting it to restart. We have gotten to the point that it’s causing more hassle then it is helping us and my cats are trying to “go” elsewhere 😡 for now we will be going back to the old fashion way as I don’t know what I can trust anymore especially when they are so pricey.

Flabbergasted... Dishonest Selling Practices? + Product works (mostly) BUT terrible design
Originally came to review the pros and cons of this litter box since I've had it for over a year now (purchased June 2023), and I own 2 of these for my 3 cats. That may be surprising since we all know the # of cats + 1 litter box rule... but I discovered it works surprisingly well, and I was able to save on litter box space within my apartment (just means I need to dump the litter box more often). But I digress. I realized something quite disappointing: when I was trying to find the product I ordered, I realized the company has quite a few listings for what seems like the same product... all at different prices. Just try searching "CATLINK Self Cleaning Automatic Litter Box for Cats" on Amazon and you will see what I mean. At time of writing, one product listing is advertised at $380, another at $419, and this one at $469. There are no discernable differences between any of them. They all describe the product as "CATLINK Pro X" at some point, with various similar descriptors like Luxury / Upgrade / New to make it that much more confusing. I don't know about you, but finding this out just left a bad taste in my mouth. Feels too much like they're trying to cheat their customers. Who knows if they're simply taking returns and reselling them at a lower price under a different SKU. Either way, I don't think customers deserve to be deceived like this. Especially given when you buy something at this price point, you could basically buy something like a small iPad or Nintendo Switch. Prior to finding the above out, I had intended to rate this 3 stars based on my 1 year+ experience with the product. Here are the original pros and cons I planned to share: PROS - Definitely saves time if you are moving from manually cleaning the litter box every day to a litter robot. The biggest and most obvious pro, I think. But is this the best litter robot if you're in the market for one anyway? I don't know. - Automatic cleaning after a cat does its business is pretty reliable (99% of the time). Occasionally, I will find a dump that for some reason didn't make it into the waste drawer after a clean cycle, but usually manualy initating the clean procedure solves that as it falls in without issue. - App doesn't do all the fancy stuff you see on the product page (the poor English doesn't help, UX is just alright) but it does let you initiate manual cleans and change the robot settings right from your phone, so that's nice. Also I wouldn't consider it 100% accurate, but for the most part, you can see when a cat uses the litter box. I basically don't check this regularly though, as I don't have much need for that information. - Isolates waste smell pretty effectively. My cats have aged out of the stinky kitten poop stage, but we can still when they've gone. So we definitely notice that after the robot runs the clean cycle, the smell also goes away. - When the litter is emptied from the robot, it's overall not that heavy to move, which is convenient if you need to put it in a different room or are moving homes. CONS - There are ZERO grip holds anywhere on the darn thing. This may seem like a minor/unnecessary thing, and I'm sure that's why whoever designed this overlooked it. But honestly, the longer I own this, the more I realize WHAT A PAIN having a cumbersome, unwieldy litter robot like this is, ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU NEED TO CLEAN OR MOVE IT. Instead, any time I try to pick up the robot or tilt it back to get a better angle for cleaning the waste drawer interior or inside the dome, the "cover" always pops off so easily, making it extremely frustrating. I have no idea why it's not designed to be latched with a lock mechanism or something to keep it from popping off with the slightest upward pressure. Probably the company just trying to save money, if I had to guess. There is basically NO reason to have the cover be so easily removable, since any cat owner would not have a need to remove the cover on a daily or even monthly basis. It's not even something that helps with regular light cleaning/maintenace of the product, because it just reveals the spinning dome piece and if you ever wanted to strip down the product and completely clean every piece, then maybe you'd want to do pop off the cover... but if you're just trying to do an occasional deep clean WITHOUT disassembling the product, it's totally irrelevant. I do not want to have to grab a screwdriver, pop off the cover, disassemble the dome halves, just so I can wipe down the inside??? Literally, give me a handhold I can use it to tilt the robot back and just simply reach in and wipe the interior... So in terms of cleaning and ease of maintenace, I'd give this 0 and negative stars if I could. For the amount of money I've spent, I would hope to use this product for many years, and I don't want years of filth accumulating in the interior of the robot that could negatively impact my cats and my health. Naturally, regular cleaning/maintenace of the product would prevent that but in my experience, the sheer unwieldiness and almost *fragility* of the product design makes doing so just an unbelievably frustrating endeavor. This product feels like cheaply put together plastic pieces with some things screwed down and other things flimsly attached (like the cover) which makes a cat owner trying to figure out how to best clean it extremely frustrated and spending more time than they'd want. I sometimes wonder if all the time I saved manually scopping is taken back with my Sisyphean efforts just to clean/maintain this darn thing. - The app supposedly alerts you when the litter box is full, but it is not reliable in my experience. Many times, it alerted me too late, and with waste spilling over in the drawer, I had to spend more time trying to clean the interior, which again, is annoying and painful because of the poor product design (no way to easily manuever the product for cleaning). Sigh, I am really disappointed.

Better than the big well known brand!
I have 2 LR3 that were okay for a while, but then started having sensor problems, so I started looking around elsewhere. I tried 3 or 4 others brands with no sucess, but I got this one and it was a little rocky with the app, but the box works fine, even if the app is or is not set up. I recently moved it and never reconnected it, and it does not affect how it works. Obviously if I connected I could mess with the settings, but it has general settings to work on its own. So I'm not bothered. And nether are the cats, they don't care if I know how often they poop. Personally I was getting annoyed by all the notifications. (I have 6 cats, 2 LR3, and 1 catlink so the dings never stopped). Recently 1 LR3 was getting realy sensor crazy, so I said enough. I got another catlink box and sold my LR3 on FB to someone willing to replace the sensors. The sensors are cheap, but it is a pain to change them, so I had enough. I have one LR3 left and when it starts getting bad I will replace it with a catlink as well. As far as I'm concerned catlink is clearly a better product. The app is odd, and hard to set up, but the box will work without it, and really that is all that matters to me. If you really care about the app, you can call or email support and they will help you get it working, but I personally didn't bother with it again. Your choice. Also the catlink is so much quiter than the LR3, I have one in my bedroom, and you can barely hear it spinning. Also it contains the smell better, because I would not allow it next to my bed if it stunk all the time. Obviously it smells when they go, but it goes away in the bin, and the smell is gone. The LR3 had to be cleaned all the time to not smell horrible. The catlink is better hands down. The footprint is slightly smaller than the LR3, but even my big boys seems to have plenty of space inside. My cats love the automatic box's so much if they walk up to a box that was just used and not cycled yet, they will sit in front of it, wait for it to spin, then use it. They are such litter box snobs now. 😆 we can never go back to regular boxes.

Great company, great value, stink eliminating, game changer
I've had this litter box for a year meow. I ended up getting a second one I loved it so much. It's easy to use, and easy to clean, and the odor control is undeniable. I currently have eight cats living with me, and I supplement these two automatic boxes with one standard box. All the cats use these boxes, but I give them the option of a standard box just in case. I've found they tend to use these more often for their #2s, which is great for me, for keeping odor to a minimum and extending the time between emptying the waste drawer. I was planning on eventually eliminating the standard litter box, but since they primarily only use it for potty, it's actually a benefit to keep available without creating an odor issue. I also got the Catlink smart deodorizer to put in the waste drawer, and I've found that they are a good addition to a multi-cat house. The wifi setup and app were easy for me to figure out, and I never had an issue with getting them operational. I have several cats near the same weight, so it's not going to be able to accurately differentiate between my cats every time, but without Bluetooth collars, no automatic litter box could do any better until facial recognition becomes a feature added to these, which would likely cost a pretty penny and for me personally, isn't that big of a deal anyway. The cats love watching it rotate and clean, which is an adorable extra perk of this litter box. They congregate around and poke their heads in are always fascinated with it while it cleans. Going from standard litter boxes only to these was a game changer. The odor level around the litter box area in my house is non-existent with the exception of the few minutes right after someone makes stinky bears. I researched for a few months before buying this, and I was a little wary forking out so much money. The last automatic litter box I bought ended up being more work than a standard box, didn't control smell well at all, wasted a lot of litter every time it cleaned, and broke completely after just one year. I regretted buying it from day one. When I finally decided to go ahead and try this one, I was nervous. The first few weeks I had nothing but good experiences with it. I was waiting for it to reveal some aggravating flaws, but a year has passed, a second one is now added, and I've got nothing but good experiences to report. The deals available on this through Amazon are also great. Watch the deals and you can get this for well under $500 at times, which is a great price considering the average price of this style litter box. They are currently beginning production on a Catlink lite automatic litter box that has a smaller footprint and a different design but still a decent size to accommodate bigger cats. I've been so happy with this company that I went ahead and pre-ordered one to place on the other side of my house for an extra litter location and one for a gift for a friend. A year ago, I was so nervous to spend the money on an automatic litter box after my past experience with a different popular brand. I've been so happy with this product, this company, and their customer service that a year later I'm willing to preorder a newly designed litter box without any customer reviews to guide me. I know if there is an issue with their products, they will take care of it. They have proven themselves to be a very customer conscious company. I'm very happy with everything, both this company and this litter box. I hardly ever write reviews, but this is a company and product I am happy to support, financially and through word of mouth. Highly recommended.
