What's the difference between the Blue/medium density & the Red/firm density? What does that mean?

I’m not sure of the difference. The blue ones were recommended to me by my physical therapist to aide in my recovery (which wasn’t going as speedy as I had hoped) after planter fasciitis surgery. I’ve used them daily for over 6 months, and they make a huge difference in how my feet feel.
