Learn about recycling from a new perspective! Peek into this diary of a plastic bottle as it goes on a journey from the refinery plant, to the manufacturing line, to the store shelf, to a garbage can, and finally to a recycling plant where it emerges into it's new life...as a fleece jacket! Told from the point of view of a free-spirited plastic bottle, kids can share in the daily experiences and inner thoughts of the bottle through his personal journal. The diary entries will be fun and humorous yet point out the ecological significance behind each product and the resources used to make it. Readers will never look at a plastic bottle the same way again! Review: ... teach recycling education for my job and this a great little book for ages 5-10 - I teach recycling education for my job and this a great little book for ages 5-10. Fun pictures and cute story to engage younger students and great, accurate text to inform older learners. Provides a nice, concise overview of resource extraction, use and recycling, all in an interesting way. I alter how I read it depending on students' age, but use this with grades K-5. Review: Wonderful Books! - I purchased all 3 of the "Little Green Books" in this set - one copy for my 5-year-old grandson, and two copies for our Creation Care Council at Church - 1 copy of each is now on our bookshelf at Church, and 1 copy of each was placed in a gift basket for our Festival. My grandson loved them, and the Chair of our Council thought they were adorable - she chuckled all the way through each of them! These are great books to get younger kids and early readers interested in and involved in recycling and helping to take care of our planet. I highly recommend them!

Kids loved it!
As a librarian, I'm always looking for books to use with students supporting my school's STEM program. This book contains spot on information and is written in a kid friendly voice. Great addition to my lesson.

Sooo Cute! Plus Educational
This is a fun book about start to finish the life of a plastic bottle. I had no idea where plastic came from myself so this was also great for me, (the parent). Educational, letting my children know that when you recycle items can go on for such a long time helping save the environment. Great story, super cute for children!

Shows Kids the Wide World of Plastics
This book helped my 4 year old granddaughter better grasp the idea of recycling and the potential for plastic to be reused in many ways. Glad I bought it!

Recycling is more than a feel good activity
This book is a great introduction to the positive impact of recycling for the preschool and kindergarten through 2nd grade. Our office has purchased a copy of the Adventures of a plastic bottle for many of the schools in our area. The story goes beyond the normal 'recycling is good' concept, which is an important story to explain to young children. This book helps them 'get it'!

Great book.
This is a great book that I used for my PreK and also my 3 year old class. They were very intrigued by it and we all learned a lot. I did not read the book verbatim but added my own parts about littering and throwing bottles in the trash. Next year, I think we will use plastic bottles to make bird feeders to take a step further. Loved it!

This book was perfect for my pre-k students and another teacher's school age ...
I will start by saying that I am a pre-k teacher that loves incorporating STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) into my curriculum. I used this book as part of a sea turtle hospital unit. We discussed pollution and recycling. This book was perfect for my pre-k students and another teacher's school age students. The illustrations are adorable and the content is perfect for many different ages. Overall, I would recommend to other teachers and parents. I will be using this book in future school years.
