Pro: I am so glad I made this choice! It looks awesome and people always comment on it. It was no more difficult to install than a standard drain. Standard drains get water spots and Corrode, this well not. Clearing the basket is a breeze. Simply insert a screwdriver and pry it up. I kept a paint can pry tool in the vanity drawer for this purpose. This Leeds me to the negative. Cons: The hair/debris basket gets clogged way to easy restricting flow. This is in my short hair son’s shower. The basket holes are too small collecting even insignificant debris. I found myself having to clear it out every other day. I cannot imagine how fast it would clog if it were in a woman’s bath. As a result I eliminated it. It is not mandatory and not a significant deterrent. I would make this choice again in a second.

Major efforts to clean and maintain! Matching tile on top crumbles apart and gets moldy. Go with a simple drain! I put the matching shower floor tile on top of this drain. Despite being professionally installed, and having the tile guys come back to fix the drain, and trying myself to glue it, the tile always comes off the top piece. Removing it to clean the drain basket rubs against the floor of the shower itself and is eroding the tile there. This allows more mold to grow. If you decide to not do your decorative tile on top, it doesn’t matter because all the seperate pieces to this product ensure that mold and slime and soap scum and whatever can grow quite easily. It’s just more to clean. After a complete shower remodel I am longing for the simple grate style drain and concerned I will have to redo the floor entirely. Shower is two months old. I’m giving it two stars because I am not sure if it’s just this product that works so poorly, or if it’s just the idea itself. Either way trust me, get the simple grate style drain!
