From the Publisher Review: crime thriller that gives both adrenaline and emotion - Oh God! I really enjoyed the story. I love psycho thrillers. Be it books or movies. Gives me a glimpse of how in different hues human minds come in and how society is involved in creating such cases. The Indian backdrop was super easy relate with plus the plot with the case feels almost real. This book pulls us right from the start. The setup of a cold, no-nonsense officer like Simone ASP being paired with warm-hearted Zoya DSP made the story more layered than just a crime chase. I liked how both women, despite being so different, found a way to work together. Their bond grew slowly but surely, and that part felt real and meaningful. The idea of one serial killer trying to outdo another was something I hadn't come across before. It gave the story an extra push of suspense. The crimes were disturbing but handled in a way that didn’t feel overdone. I found myself pausing at times, thinking about the reasons behind such dark minds rather than just rushing to the end. Human psyche can be so crooked! The emotional weight remains. Its a fast-paced, gripping thriller that begins with a disturbing crime scene and then dives into the world of a bold and blunt police officer who has just returned from suspension. She’s not someone who cares about being liked, which makes her stand out. When she is forced to work with someone much more gentle, their clashing personalities bring both tension and depth to the story. The concept of two serial killers competing in the same city, the Doll Maker’s crimes all are proves of crooked human minds, it is shocking that it all feels real when the story touched on topics like domestic violence and childhood trauma. It shows how broken our society is making all of us broken too. Even though the crime scenes were dark, the writing didn’t feel heavy. In fact, it’s quite beginner-friendly. If you're looking for a crime thriller that gives both adrenaline and emotion, this one’s worth reading. Review: Great book - The Girl in the Glass Case is a gripping psychological crime thriller that takes you into a dark world where two serial killers compete for attention, and one woman must stop them before it is too late. The story follows ASP Simone Singh, a sharp but socially awkward police officer who returns from suspension only to face a horrifying case. A killer known as The Doll Maker is abducting children, dressing them up as Barbie dolls, and displaying them in glass cases. While the city is in shock, another murderer called The Clipper reappears, angry that his fame is being taken away. What begins as an investigation soon turns into a deadly race between two killers, and Simone must stop the growing number of murders before chaos takes over. The book is fast-paced and full of suspense. The short chapters and multiple perspectives make it an engaging and quick read. Devashish Sardana’s writing is simple, smooth, and cinematic. The detailed police work, clues, and unpredictable moments keep the reader hooked until the end. The story, however, reveals some important details too early, which makes it easier to guess certain twists. Despite that, the tension and thrill remain strong throughout. The book runs several subplots at once, which adds variety but also makes it slightly lengthy at times. The characters are well-written, especially the criminals, whose backgrounds and motives are dark and interesting. Simone Singh stands out as a strong and determined female lead who brings balance to the chaos around her. With over 300 pages of crime, mystery, and psychological tension, The Girl in the Glass Case is an intense read. The ending is surprising and satisfying, leaving a lasting impact. If you enjoy dark thrillers, complex characters, and fast-paced storytelling, this book is worth picking up. Verdict: A sharp and thrilling story that keeps you engaged from start to finish. ⭐ Rating: 4/5

On the edge-of-the-seat thriller
This book opens with a chilling premise and maintains a steady pace that keeps you invested from the very beginning. The narrative introduces Simone, a young officer navigating the challenges of chasing dangerous criminals while coming into her own as a character. Her determination and grit make her a strong lead, and readers will appreciate the way her growth is shown across the story. That said, her characterization follows a very familiar route often seen in crime thrillers, where toughness and grit are equated with strength. While it works for the role she plays in the plot, I did wish there were moments where other dimensions of strength were explored. What worked particularly well for me were the subplots and the smaller twists that add richness to the central narrative. They ensure that the story does not feel one-dimensional and instead creates a world where each thread has purpose. Even though the climax felt slightly drawn out, the journey to get there kept my attention. The book also touches on important social issues that ground the thriller aspect in realism. Overall, it is a gripping read with a balance of suspense, layered storytelling, and a protagonist who keeps you invested until the last page.

This book changed my perspective on indian authors
The girl in the glass case I think it's my 2nd indian thriller Aah... The pleasure my eyes getting for reading it The satisfaction my brain getting for blowing up hard Ah the unknown attraction to simone singh while reading (yup, a fan of her, I'll bite you if you say something opposing) And and how can i forgot the twits, they are like some kick ups and literally felt like i am on cloud 9 for blowing up hard Nvm, if i am going to compliment characters and all, i will wrote pages appreciating simo... Coming to the story, The book is completely runs around bhopal, the crime dynamics of bhopal, the police force and all We have the villain povs too, we know what he/she doing everytime before hand, it's like watching a thriller movie The writing is well n good, the character building, situations and all The twists really hits you hard, can't say more, coz of spoilers Try it, it's a marvelous book Enjoy your reading.. That's all for now

Okay Book, Not the Most Crisp
Decent story, okay pacing. But I didn't expect to read the word "THAR" SO many times, over and over. And dropping brand names does not do the book any favours. Also, some details are needlessly drawn out, like the author had to hit X number of words. Would have enjoyed it more had it not been for these issues.

An absolute page turner!
I couldn’t put this book down! It’s not just another crime story, it’s a gripping psychological thriller that really gets inside the minds of its characters. The twists and turns kept me guessing the whole way through, but what I loved most was how the story focused on the two p*ychopaths and their messed-up lives instead of just the investigation. It felt fresh and different, and I was hooked from the very first page. The writing is sharp, addictive, and had me flipping pages nonstop. If you’re into thrillers, this one’s a must-read. I already have another of his books waiting for me, and I can’t wait to start 🤭

Sharp, twisty, clever
Set in Bhopal, this book follows a string of gruesome murders that leave the city on edge. A new serial killer, the Doll Maker, is staging bodies in horrifying displays, while an older, long-forgotten killer suddenly resurfaces, creating chaos and fear. At the center of it all are Simone Singh and Zoya Bharucha, police officers racing against time to stop the madness before more lives are lost. The Girl in the Glass Case is one of those thrillers that grabs you from page one and doesn’t let go. It’s fast, dark, and addictive—the kind of book you keep telling yourself ‘just one more chapter’ until it’s suddenly 2 AM. The writing is sharp, the twists are clever, and the tension is nonstop. What I loved most is how atmospheric it feels—you’re completely pulled into the hunt and can almost sense the clock ticking with every page. A brilliant, chilling read for anyone who loves smart, edge-of-your-seat thrillers.
