Current injury: Severely dislocated knee Fractured kneecap Torn patellar ligament Severely damaged cartilage This is a fantastic device. They immobilizer they gave me in the ER was terrible and broke on day 3. I got this to user as immobilizer now and a post-op stabilizer after surgery. I'm still awaiting surgery, but this thing has been a life saver as an immobilizer. The adjustments are easy, but it takes a bit to figure it out. The directions are useless. It's surprisingly comfortable. I am able to sleep with it on. I was able to sleep thru the night without any pain. It also help redirect a significant amount of weight around the knee and supports it against the thigh and calf for those inevitable moments when your crutch slips. I do have one problem with the device and that is how the pads are attached. The little Velcro dots that hold them on don't work very well. They become detached from the frame to easily and they don't have enough surface area to hold the pads in the right place. They move around when adjusting the brace. Your just have to take a bit extra care when adjusting, but it's a bit annoying.

Disappointed with this product as the Velcro is not adhering to the brace. It keeps on down my leg

This brace works better than the one issued by the hospital, but is not as easy to use as we had hoped. Hubby had nerve damage following leg surgery and his knee buckles. When walking (with a walker) his leg needs to be straight. When sitting of course it is more comfortable to be bent. This brace does this but it's quite a process to lock and unlock from various positions. In order to lock and unlock it his leg has to be absolutely straight. So here we are in a restaurant with my kneeling on the floor as we straighten his leg to lock it back in walking position. I had hoped it would be easier to use so he could be more independent and not rely on someone to help him with it. The instructions that come with the brace are worthless. His physical therapist had to play with it to figure it out. Maybe there is a trick we are just unaware of. I expect we will eventually replace it with something better. It does it's job, but is not as easy to use as we had hoped.
