Review: Saved My Retaining Ring, Fuel Lines, Fingers - and My Sanity - Perfect tool for removing and installing the retaining ring on my 2015 Jeep Renegade. Incredibly durable and absolutely worth it. My retaining ring was heavily rusted, and I had to put a 24‑inch 1/2" breaker bar on it to break it loose. The DPTOOL fuel tank locking ring tool didn’t flex, bend, or fail in any way. It held solid under real force. This tool is a lifesaver if you need to remove the fuel pump. If I’d tried the old brass‑punch‑and‑hammer method, I would have almost certainly bent or damaged the retaining ring — or worse, slipped and hit one of the fuel lines, even though I had them tied back safely. This tool eliminates all of that risk and makes the job clean, controlled, and safe. Highly recommended!

Perfect tool for removing and installing the retaining ring on my 2015 Jeep Renegade. Incredibly durable and absolutely worth it. My retaining ring was heavily rusted, and I had to put a 24‑inch 1/2" breaker bar on it to break it loose. The DPTOOL fuel tank locking ring tool didn’t flex, bend, or fail in any way. It held solid under real force. This tool is a lifesaver if you need to remove the fuel pump. Used this tool to change fuel sensors in a 2007 Santa Fe I sprayed WD-40 around the locks on the lock ring just to loosen up the dryness surface rust gathered there you will see once you do this job anyhow I then disconnected the wiring and fuel lines ( don’t forget to remove the fuel pump relay to run it out of fuel first ) Then I put the wrench in place I put a short piece of pipe over the handle of my 1/2 ratchet for leverage because yes those lock rings are tight .. I applied tension to the ratchet then I tapped the edge of the tool with the hammer just slightly tapping and BAM 💥 lock rings broke clearly easy job when you take your time and pay attention to what your doing clean the lock rings before putting them back on and apply some grease to the lock areas just to make it slide easier when installing them ;) I recommend this tool it’s well built and got the job done ✔️ with no issues
