Smooth and hard oil pastels, strong smell
Great product, smooth and beautiful colors to start. But, its smell like gasoline, I don't know how can I explain it. The smell it's very strong. My advice is, open it for a few minutes, and then use them. You can get used to the smell. Used them in a good ventilation area. They are hard, and you can add details, that's why I gave them 5⭐️ because you can achieve beautiful results.

The Best Price you will find for such a wonderful selection of quality colors.
I Love these Oil Pastels and YOU WILL NOT find a better price anywhere then these ones for sale on Amazon! Especially for a Set of 50 that includes several shades of your Yellow, Blue & Red Primaries as well as your Secondary Greens, (Which I favor) Orange & Purples. It’s nice to have an array of Colors which makes it less difficult then if you had only a few and had to mix all the time. These are also very good Quality Pastels and easy for anyone to work with. As someone myself who is not very artistic, I like using this Medium as these Pastels don’t dry up real quick like Acrylic Paints which gives me time. I think Painting with Pastels is like a Marriage of Finger Painting and sculpting with Clay, I literally push Colors around with my Fingers where I want them and smear them to blend adding or taking away layers to fix my mistakes (I make a lot) and for effect. You can also use a Kneaded Eraser to pick up Colors and something I just Ordered on Amazon Tortillions to blend around edges as I personally am finding that my big fingers can’t get detailed areas with out pushing some adjacent colors I don’t want to shift. I also have found sketching what your going to paint first with a charcoal pencil makes it easier kind of like Coloring you can use the Kneaded Eraser to get your sketch right no worries you’ll cover it with these Oil Pastels, make sure to erase it anyways just leaving a light outline to cover or your pastel will mix with and smear the Charcoal. I think you will Love these Oil Pastels you will for sure continue buying I already bought 2 more after this Purchase! Here is my first Painting of a Sunflower and a Snowman I did next as Christmas Gift. You cac see my other Picture they came in a plastic tray which I left them in to keep organized, but I’ve cut in half to fit in my Easel Drawer.

Perfect for beginners – amazing quality for the price!
I’m a complete beginner with oil pastels and didn’t want to spend a lot at first. I bought this Pentel 50-color set expecting low quality because it was so affordable… I was so wrong! I’m shocked by how creamy, pigmented, and easy to blend they are. The colors are beautiful, and vibrant. After reading reviews from experienced artists, I totally agree: this is “cheap” stuff that performs like professional-grade. It’s absolutely worth it. Highly recommend!

Pretty small but good
Pretty good, good at blending and good verity of colors. They are really small and don’t have the colors I thought they would like dark red. They’re easy to use though and you get what you pay for.

Beautiful colors and easy to work with!
Fantastic oil pastels! I got these for a middle school art class I teach. We did a stained glass oil pastel piece and they turned out beautifully. These pastels are easy to use, blend well, and seem quite durable. They do have a slight odor but as long as your face is not right in your work it is not overly noticeable.

If you are looking for real oil pastels, these are not it
These are basically crayons. They do not blend well at all. I gave three stars because they are cheap and there is a good variety of colors, but they do not work for the art I want to create. They might work better for a child because they don’t smudge as much as they should. They also may be good for an art journal for the same reason. They also have an unusual and strong smell.

The pastels were shattered. I'm so disappointed. It was advertised as packaging damage. These are great products. After contacting Amazon they have given me a refund. I am thankful for this.

Originally i bought them for event that people of all ages could enjoy doing collaboration art. Children really enjoyed the vibrant colours and many just did on the go amazing master pieces. I never really used pastels myself, but its nice experience and i really enjoyed the range of the colours. I wwould love to see more basic coulours more than one in the pack such as skin colours and white for blending. On down side, its breaking easily especially then paper cover removed. Dont know if thats the mature of the pastel. I have bought several packages for children to use and i see good value. These pastels invite children to draw.
