Synology Diskstation DS220j NAS System 2-Bay

Fácil de instarlar y poco ruidoso. De momento todo perfecto. He metido ahí 20 años de fotos y datos. Le he puesto dos discos Seagate Ironwolf de 4tb en RAID 1 y listo... no he llenado ni un tera así que creo que tengo espacio para rato... Tenía dudas por los 512Mb de RAM, pero para el uso que le voy a dar que es solo copia de datos va muy sobrado... eso sí, no lo uso para streaming multimedia, solo para copiar datos. Destaco la app de fotos. Me la instalé en mi iPhone y es muy facil salvaguardar las fotos desde móvil...

The software is intuitive, although if you're new, make sure to "mix" two HDs of the same size so that you won't miss space (if you have them in Synology's raid system)

probably it's not new..some of the accessories are missing & others are already installed..

本製品は本当に最低限の事しかできません。職場で418playを導入し、非常に快適で自由度の高い環境構築がとれましたので、個人自宅にもと本製品を購入しました。用途はPCとスマホ間でファイル共有で、全くヘビーな使い方はしていないつもりです。PCとスマホからSMBへのアクセスだけです。 再起動直後は快適なのですが、2,3日経つとずっとハードディスクがガリガリ言っており、NASのコントロールパネルやSMB共有フォルダにも繋がらなくなります。 買って後悔した商品です。

Doing a review after 2 weeks of use. Using 2 X 10 TB + 1TB external USB HDD on it. Which is running very fast for basic requirements for home purposes. I am a 3D Developer & have kept almost 4TB of data (Design tools, models, websites, 700+ movies & 70,000+ photos on Synology Photos) If you are confused about it's performance, let me tell you the truth. On the hardware side as you can see in specs. That it runs on very low grade hardware. First week: In my first week when I was copying all my data into NAS it was running very slow. Then I realised that while copy it was also checking each file / photo (trying to identify people) / checking movie info etc. It took very long to copy. Then I turned off most of it's apps that are checking files. Then I saw it's actual speed & performance and that was amazing. If you are not using files indexing for Synology drive then it will run very smooth without any visible lag. If the Indexing is on then forget about using the device. It's a crap if the file indexing is running & meanwhile you want to access the file/photos/movies. Second week: Now I have have been using multiple features of it & it's performing amazingly with good speed along with security. Mentioning some of the key features that I am using: 1. Website builds hosting (with https sso service) 2. Drive & files access on LAN & on VPN too. 3. Hosted Node.js website & Apache server on it.(it has 512 MB RAM , so be careful, you can't run heavy compilation in nodejs/python on it & DS220J is not upgradable) 4. All my movies are online now & can watch them any where. (Good buffering speed over internet like YouTube. 4K blue ray content also running smooth) 5. Don't worry about the HDD life too. That can also be set to Hibernation mode after an idle timeout. 6. Free Domain name by Synology. 7. Python & node Backend server. 8. RAID setup for scheduled backup. If you are a Developer who just want his small websites to get hosted / Video content creator / photographer who want to keep all his files safe & online just go ahead for it. If you want some heavy processing like big compilation/ faster images identification & 5+ continues depandant users to work/use services. Please go for higher models. It can handle smaller stuff for home & basic purposes that I wrote above. Experience was good with what I bought. Go for it. Thanks
