I was so excited to find this package for sale. I read all the Black Stallion books when I was young, and they affected me deeply. As a teenager I had a dark brown Thoroughbred gelding (who sometimes behaved more like a stallion, and he was a powerful teacher for me. Two years ago, I discovered that Breyer horses were available and got the favorite I'd had when younger and missed the most. Then my daughter got me a Breyer of a contemporary race horse that developed a relationship with a young boy who was very sick and that friendship gave the boy joy in his final months. Discovering that this package exited gave me great joy, and the quality is wonderful. Cover image is beautiful and totally satisfying my imagination of the horse I'd read about, The Breyer also matches this same image. Just to the right of where the Breyer stands is my movie poster of THE BLACK STALLION movie. All of this is in my home office, where I many hours, daily. That's what I'm smiling broadly while I write this review

Bought this for my niece as she loves horses. The Black Stallion was my favourite film at her age and I collected Breyers, so I thought this was a safe bet. The book wasn't well secured in the packaging, this was the least of the problems. The horse itself was very low quality, without any real expression, and it feels cheap. It also doesn't stand up at all because one of the legs is askew. If I had known this before gifting it, I would have sent it back. I can't believe how much they charge for this kind of rubbish, save your money!

Purchased the item and returned. This is a collectable and damaged box = less value. I have purchased again in the hopes it will be in mint condition and boxed and well padded. Unfortunately, it was not. Returned!

I brought this as a Christmas present for my daughter - I had this horse as an avid Breyer collector as a child - and wanted my daughter to have the same! But - and itâs a great big but - the horse doesnât stand up!!! One of the back legs is at such an angle that the horse topples over! It also seems far more âflexibleâ than our other Breyer models. All in all - not a happy customer (or daughter!) at all!
