Stainless mounting brackets still had protective plastic on them when they were riveted to the stainless filter guard. However, the guard was not protected after blueing proccess and was scratched up upon delivery. Probably from sitting on the shelves unprotected. Go with the Carbon fiber guard.

Terrible. Completely false advertising. The pictures show a chrome shield, but what I received is a blueish gray piece. It arrived scratched up and looks like it was already used. I am returning it and requesting a refund.

2 Stars I can understand why Amazon has this marked as a "Frequently returned item." I was disappointed when I received it. The listing advertises a "carbon fiber look," but nowhere does it mention that the finish is hydro-dipped. If that's how it's made, that should be clearly disclosed so customers know exactly what they're buying. My biggest complaint is that only the front side has the carbon fiber finish. The back side is just plain black, making the part look unfinished and inexpensive. If you're going to use a carbon fiber pattern, at least finish both sides. The part may function as intended, but the lack of detail in the listing and the unfinished appearance leave a lot to be desired. I expected a more professionally finished product for the price.

Fake carbon fiber design on metal. Filter mounts have like 1000 bolts and nuts to be screwed on.

I used to protect hot air from the radiator fan that was going into the high performance open air filter, did the job.
