It's oil.
The bottle it came in was a secure plastic container that held the oil just fine until needed. The cap was secure but easy to unscrew and there was a seal to be certain no one had tampered with the oil prior to me. The bottle was colored a pretty bluish color and still looks appealing on the shelf. The oil poured well out of the jug and easily flowed to its destination. It was liquid and appeared quite slippery. The gearbox subsequently hid any further competent evaluation of lubricity until, of course I run the machine a while.
