I snagged the refurb peoduct...absolutely no problems..system looks/performs perfectly. Very rugged but still puts out fine sound. Sounded like the high range wasn't great in a tiny room (10x10), but when used in a larger room the system starts to perform. Excellent bass and good treble. I would like more high range, but as you turn it up this actually improves! Also like the ability to broadly tune the sound profile using the mobile app. Love being able to rename the speaker on the bluetooth profile. No problems having other people link up to it. The only thing i find a bit annoying is that the volume steps are quite broad. Many times the perfect volune will be right inbetween two of the volume steps on the speaker. Sound profile can then be used to tine it a bit tho. I bought the silicone cover/handle; highly recommended. Hearing things on youtube videos that ixve never heard before. Not stunning stereo, as it is a single point system, but the apparent 'audio width' of the system is about 4 feet. Battery lasts for a long time. I haven't run it out yet. Primarily bought this model as it had an aux 3.5mm option. Works great. 100% recommended. I will update this review after a year!

The sound quality is so crisp and clear. The bass is very nice but not overbearing. Just in time to play all my Christmas classics. Bluetooth is ready.

This is the second of these I've purchased, not because the first failed, but to be able to pair it in a stereo set. Works great, easy to pair, and overall good fidelity. Not the flattest response, but does work well for the music I listen to (jazz, classical, early rock) And, plays loud, especially with two of them!

Pairing the speaker to your phone takes seconds. With the Partyboost mode I am able to link two other Extreme3 (or other Partyboost compatible) speakers. With all three speakers sync together I am able to replicate a three-channel stereo effect with rich surround-like-sound without having to maximize volume setting for a wider listening area. Having one large Bluetooth speaker that simulates a direct-fire speaker/sub, you cannot reach other listeners in a circle or semicircle configuration unless you Max the volume control thus making the music unbearably too loud if you are in the direct path of just one large speaker. I use mine at the beach and with three speakers spaced equally apart, the music is not sacrificed from overloudness or annoy other beach goers 20 or 30 ft away. The overall build and quality of the speaker is great. As a former mobile DJ and having owned all sorts of speakers, I rank the JBL Extreme3 as a formidable Bluetooth speaker that will not disappoint.

I keep this in my garage and I like mostly heavy rock and some rap music. I wouldn't say it has deep bass but it does have noticeable bass. The sound quality is pretty good and the battery seems to last plenty long. Overall I am happy with it for the price. I had the Bose Color Sound speaker before and this JBL Extreme 3 is a step up from that in my opinion. I bought this JBL Xtreme 3 because my Bose unit quit after having it for about 8 years.

Excelente producto

Just took delivery of a "renewed" Xtreme 3 speaker. It appears to be new. It had the manufacturer's box. It was sealed shut by those round pieces of clear tape. All the original packing was there. GREAT. Only problem was I noted that the price had gone from $199.95 to $188. Oh well. It connected immediately to my phone. I subscribe to Tidal high res streaming. It sounds GREAT through the Xtreme 3. One thing that both JBL and most reviewers MISS is that this speaker does produce a STEREO image. Sitting 3 feet away, I could hear both left and right channels. Bass response sounded great. I have heard some complain about the highs but in my brief test, they sounded good to me. As a reference point, my home sound system is based on Anthem electronics, Martin Logal ESLs in 5.2 and two ML Dynamo 1600X subs. My standards are relatively high. This speaker will not compare to the Anthem/ML but will sound great sitting on the edge of my hot tub. I wish that the world would produce something better than "appliance operators" to review audio products. Not emphasizing stereo is a real disservice to JBL and this product!

Everyone here mentions the phenomenal sound, which this has. But, I am going to talk about specifics. If you want to test it like myself, go to YouTube and look up LLOYD WEBBER PHANTOM OF THE OPERA SYMPHONIC SUITE. The orchestra comes through perfectly including the organ blasts to open it. As the suite switches to "Think of me", the strings and clarinet come through without distortion. Going into Angel Of Music, the cellos and flutes come through. Prima Donna you can hear the strings, flutes, and bells perfectly, and as it moves into Masquerade, you can hear each percussion and brass instrument including the Celeste. As it moves into the sad "Wishing You Were Here Again", the woodwinds and even the harp come through. In the famous song Phantom Of The Opera, again you can hear the clarity of the strings and even the marimba. In come the french horns, clear. I can't remember the name of the next song, but just the same. The next one is All I Ask Of You (aka Raul and Christine's engagement). Not only is that video recorded with the best equipment, the speaker does not distort a things! So, even Classical music fans will enjoy the music out of this speaker!
