Returned. Included battery pack was functional and able to charge my headlamp, but fan unit would not turn on. Will have to work through another 100° week to try my luck on a different unit. If you buy this, be sure to include the protection plan for 10 bucks. May need it sooner than later. Update: Same deal with the second unit. Would not power on when it arrived. I suspected the battery after reading other reviews stating it would not turn on if the battery was not above 75% charge. I connected it to a 20,000 mAh backup USB charger and it started with no issues. So, included battery is a bit too weak for the fan unit in my opinion, but it will keep it going for a few hours on a full charge if you don't shut it off with a slightly discharged battery. Some reviews say it's heavy, but I haven't noticed. I leave it attached whether I'm using it or not. I only use the attachments that circulate on the inside, and I can tell that I sweat less, and not just from my head. For what it is overall, it's way over priced. I could see $30, maybe $40 as reasonable for this, but $80 is ridiculous. If the battery was twice as strong, and the fan blew twice as hard, I'd be happy with $80. It is a bit noisy, but not enough to be annoying to me in a completely quiet environment. I'd say it's a non issue. In summary, if you're working in a humid environment with no circulation or wind, or you sweat excessively, this will help. If you're working in any other environment, a mesh cooling towel wrapped around your head will most likely work better.

Excellent for hot days
Yeap, beat thing I ever brought. It defeats help for those hot days. The air flow is perfect, not too much not too low. Is durable, fits perfect in my hard hat, is a bit heavy, nothing I can’t handle. Is not uncomfortable and I can use the hat all day without discomfort

Missing parts, not great fitment.
I purchased this item and it was missing a few parts. I've reached out to Klein Tools to get replacements. If it was like a few of the ducts or whatever, sure. But it is missing the cable that goes between the battery and the fan itself, so it is totally unusable. I've installed it onto my safety helmet, and the duct that should be pointing the air into your helmet is getting partly blocked by the foam on the helmet, so the efficacy is less than ideal. I took a random USB C cable to check if it is even worth keeping, and it's not a huge gust of wind, but you can definitely feel something. I'll wait for Klein to respond, but as it stands, I would probably go with the other design with the fans that hang off the sides. There's not many other options, so it's hard to recommend something else.

It's can be a great item
Honestly it's it's pretty cool if your as a a device in concept execution but falls short of what you might expect. If you keep your expectations to half of what you think, it will probably be an excellent device as concept is. And it will do it's job effectively for a time allotted by it's power source on it highest setting the area it covers is lacking but in it's defense compared to other like devices it usability ease of interchangeability to swap out battery packs and stacking of other devices such as a headlamp makes for a streamlined operation. The different attachments for air vectoring add to it's versatility to your particular needs. Adding or changing out a recharged battery, duel fans and a head lamp or blinking red caution light for the back and or another headlight cover a variety of uses with all that it boast it still lacks in sheer air power. No matter how you slice it this thing is a bitchen product that's been thoughtfully conceived and executed. Depending on your viewpoint it could well be worth the cost as a conversation piece. I would give it a five if it has little more power and battery life but I think you have to consider the weight increase all things considered someone really put in the effort that makes it an admirable product.

Lighter than expected & really cools a sweaty head
I work in an industrial setting with stagnant hot air. Cooling towels & hard hat vents only do so much. When I'm already got & sweating & turn on the fan there is an instant relief & my head is enveloped in cooling air. It seems to work in conjunction with your body's natural abilities & really kicks in the function of evaporation. Over a few minutes it gets less noticable, but if you don't think you're cooler, you're a dolt. I learned to turn it on & off as needed to conserve battery. When I visit our southern factories, it is the difference between life & death for this Yankee. It doesn't feel too heavy, though you will notice it. If you remember it's not that you're sitting in front of an industrial vortex fan, you will learn to appreciate it.

Heavy, not a ton of air flow
Fan is ok, when it is really really hot it useful but more often then not it is impractical…also heavy on your head

Bad vibration and poor quality ducts
The vibration from the fan is very annoying, fatiguing. The clips connected that connect ducts to hardhat broke within a couple of hours. Lost one duct in that same time. It really was a waste of money. I was expecting more from Klein.

Good Concept but still needs work
The fan doesn’t have a lot of air movement when it at the back. When you place it a the front of the hard hat it had more of a cooling effect.
