Great phones for a home studio
Great for my application (home recording/mixing studio). Open back design results in more accurate sound without the "cuppiness" of closed back designs.

Quality
By far the best headphones Iโve ever used. I was hearing everything in the mix, I didnโt notice how terrible my old headphones were until I tried this and it was like listening to something new. Buy these bad boys!

Big upgrade to my listening experience
The HD 400 Pro is excellent! I have sensitive ears and need a true over the ear cup design to be able to listen for hours. These are very comfortable though not 100% over the ear. The sound is the big win: I can't identify any coloration bias and just love the clarity. The open rear design allows me to hear a phone ring or respond to a family member who needs my attention. The price is a little high but I'm very happy with these 'phones.

OK, see review
Comfort: OK, fits around ears and some pressure, has some weight so only OK for comfort. They did not mark the Left and Right side very well or obvious, which is poor. (it is on the cable where it plugs in to them, very small L and R black on black) The cable is straight and you end up stepping on it or getting it caught and puling on your headphones, prefer a curled stretchable cable, so this is poor for me. Been using different headphones for 50 years, mostly for recording, audio mixing and mastering. These kinda match my speakers, they lack some high, high mid, and sometimes the bass is off or odd on some recordings. I would say there is plenty, enough bass and low mid. For the price and design I give it an OK, 3 stars. Every headphone is different like speakers and I find it hard to get a match between these two, I want a match, not headphones that make music sound better or with more bass than speakers.

This is a definite upgrade over HD560S
I own both HD400Pro and HD560S. HD400Pro is NOT the same as HD560S - the Pro version is more detailed and has better instrument separation. HD560S sounds a bit "smoothed" and "holistic" in comparison. HD560S' stock cable is so-so (noisy), HD400Pro is supplied with two stock cables, I use the straight one and it's excellent. Some people think 560S should be better than 400Pro, just because the model number is higher, but keep in mind that the Pro line models are marked differently. HD400Pro is totally worth extra $50 layout. Will be selling my 560S soon...

My son loves them and they are so exactly what the music aficionado wanted/needed. Great quality product, that does what it says.

Pristine sound
Noise isolation from outside is superb - great clarity and depth to all types of music.

The Sennheiser HD 400 Pro is the best Sennheiser headphone I own. The sound is clear with great definition. The vocals are awesome. Instruments are easy to pick out of the mix. The sound seems natural with plenty of low end. So far I haven't detected any distortion. I bought them for listening but they might be great for mixing as well. The only complaint is they are tight on my head. After two-hour sessions, I didn't experience fatigue. I wanted to keep listening.

These are an amazing set of headphones and are a steal for the price. The build quality is great for being an all-plastic construction. It comes with 2 cables: a straight one and a coiled one both terminating in a 3.5mm audio jack. The cable end which goes into the left headphone cup is a proprietary connector. Both are great stock cables with no micro-phonics while playing audio. The sound is balanced and they are not hard to drive. They are easily powered by my laptop's 3.5mm audio jack. I will be testing them with an AMP/DAC combo and will update my review regarding how they scale with amplification. They are amazingly comfortable and offer an amazing sound for casual and critical listening. 10/10 would recommend. Edit: I received my DAC/AMP combo (Topping DX3 Pro Plus). The HD400 Pros have scaled amazingly well with the amplification and have benefitted immensely from the clean signal coming from a quality ESS chip inside the DAC. I was unsure about the gains that I would be getting from the DAC/AMP over the laptop jack, but after using it, I am completely satisfied with my purchase. It has been an eye opening experience.

In first impression I surprised with the performance and sound . I used ath m50 and hd 600 but this headphone is insane at this price range and also too lightweight. Build quality is not so better than hd 600 but in term of sound so flat frequency . You will get neutral sound and stereo image experience for best results in mixing and mastering . Don't think about this product reviews go and buy this product .

Clamping force is bit high. Very flat sounding. Soundstage : 4/5 Imaging : 4/5 Treble : 5/5 Bass : 4/5 Mids : 5/5 Non-fatiguing with clean sound. My laptop couldn't drive them fully so I bought Moondrop Dawn Pro DAC/Amp and now they're loud enough.
