I don't believe it would adhere to a surface as smooth as acrylic. I would also wonder how the chemicals would react to the materials in the acrylic itself. When I worked in Cosmetics in a department store, we used a special spray to clean and shine the formica countertops. Two suggestions: 1. Call the Quick Shine customer service and see if they are able to answer your question. 2. If you already have the Silver Spray, cut a quarter size - or less_ hole in a sheet of paper and spray lightly after you have the paper /hole in an inconspicuous spot. It will take a while to fully dry. 3. I wouldn't attempt it, so that's my story and I'm sticking to it! Good luck in whatever you decide to do. **Q: is this good for silver plating coins?** A: Yes it is very effective. Always use a bright shiny new copper coin and rub the liquid in to the surface vigurously. **Q: So is this for "restoring" it's original silver or does it "plate" items that are not silver and how permanent is is it?** A: It is for restoring worn silver plated items. I tried this product on a small piece of jewelry and it completely ruined it.First, the pump on the bottle didn’t work so the spray came out in weird large drops. Second, it was a cloudy grey color that no amount of polishing helped. Third, within 3 days the jewelry started turning green. Very disappointing. After many years, the nickel had worn off showing the yellowy brass underneath. I stopped wearing it, hoping that someday I would figure out what to do about re-coating it.When I ordered this silver spray, I figured it had a small chance of actually working. However, after about 5 applications the bezel was silver again! I've worn it a few times since then and the coating does not show any signs of wearing thin. Even if it does, I have plenty left in the bottle to fix it again.Highly recommendedp.s. I should mention that surface prep is important.
