The fan is light, sleek, straight forward, and has been running 12 hours/ day for six weeks. Four options allow you to choose the white light you want, or 5 step to each giving you the luxury of fading into the next "white" light. It is not super quiet nor loud. If you lose the remote you can still use the wall switch to on/ off your way through four lights and the fan control. I recommend this as I have a finished basement, with 7ft ceilings, and still plenty of clearance. Thank you!!!
