Toyota Genuine Parts - TRD Pro Grill Tacoma (PT228-35170)

I had a knockoff Toyota legacy grill on my TRD OR for a few years.. And although it did a decent job of looking good(but still wasn't perfect), it showed all the signs of being fake, right away. The color bleed from sunlight, clips that crack on install, and the screws that hold the toyota lettering in the middle backing out or cracking the plastic that it screws into. Unlike the fake grill, this one right from the get go, you know it's quality. It physically feels more robust. The black and gray colors are deeper and although I can't say for certain yet, I believe they will hold the color. Install was super easy. Especially since the fake grill, I was able to pull straight off the truck with my bare hands because so many of the clips had broken. Another major note: Since I installed the new grill(and sensor garnish), I haven't had a single instance of my front collision sensor disabling itself(this controls things like cruse control, and collision avoidance!)! As were with the previous grill and garnish(this part was OEM) would often disable itself. I can't speak to the exact cause, but it often happened to sun up or sun down while driving "into" the sun. Overall quality of the new grill and getting from this listing is absolutely top notch. I'll report back in another year or so and update then as well.

Legit grilled, perfect fit on the tacoma

I’m not 100% positive but I do believe this grille is Toyota OEM. Supposedly one of the indicators of a knock-off is the lettering. The knock-offs have letters which are screwed on separately, but these were permanently fixed to the grille. Whether it’s OEM or a knock-off I wouldn’t really be able to take the difference, it looks awesome. It was shipped nicely and was completely intact, no scratches. All was good and the installation was seamless. One thing I would have liked to know beforehand is the grille doesn’t really allow you to place the aftermarket LEDs anywhere you would like. I didn’t realize the spacing on the bottom half of the grille is different from the top half, so I was only able to place them in the same way that everyone else does. I now realize why everyone lays them out the same way. These LEDs I ordered separately on Amazon as well just FYI.

Like others, I was apprehensive about this grille. I didn’t really like the appearance of the chrome grille on my 16 silver Off-Road. I wasn’t sure if this would make that much difference. Especially with the hefty price. But it really did made a remarkable difference. Pictures do not give a proper vantage. I typically wouldn’t spend $$ for something as simple. But you pay that much for your ride, you should be happy with the appearance. It’s way too much $$ for what it is, but the grille does flow better with the truck than the chrome. My emblems and exhaust tip remain chrome. They look good and match with other silver in the wheels and headlights. Installation was a breeze. I went with OEM to have assurance of fit and materials.

Exactly what I ordered. OME Toyota. Easy installation. Replaced stock grill that black over chrome was peeling. One thing the garnish being needed isn’t mentioned on this OME grill. Had to order it the next day.

Mine came in a beat up box with rub marks because the foam was just tossed in. One of the clips on the grille was broken off as well
