P & S PROFESSIONAL DETAIL PRODUCTS - Brake Buster Wheel Cleaner - Non Acid, Removes Brake Dust, Oil, Dirt, Light Corrosion (5 Gallons)

I just purchased a new BMW and they are notorious for throwing off a ton of brake dust. I asked the shop where I had my PPF and ceramic done for recommendations on cleaning products and for a wheel cleaner and they said to try P&S Brake Buster. I did some research and liked the fact that this is not an acid based cleaner because I did not want to risk damaging the ceramic coating on my wheels. The bottle arrived in perfect condition and I proceeded to clean one wheel first to make sure it worked ok without any issues. I sprayed a good amount of product on one of the front tires and wheels and let it sit for several minutes. I could instantly see a little foaming action and some dirt and grime start to run down. I then used a Tuf Shine tire brush on the tire and three different sizes of wheel woolies on the wheel spokes and barrel. I spent maybe five minutes working on the tire, and then pressure washed everything off. Everything looked good and much cleaner so I proceeded on the other three wheels. I then washed the whole car and and also used my foam gun to give the wheels and tires a second cleaning with regular car soap. When I was all done drying everything, the tires definitely looked cleaner and the wheels pretty much looked as good as when I picked up the car a month ago. Using this product every week or two should keep the wheels and tires looking great and prevent any long term build up. I used between a half and a third of the bottle to clean four tires and rims and I applied a pretty liberal amount. When this bottle runs out, I will probably purchase a one gallon container of it as well as a dedicated hand pump foam sprayer to apply it. It should work even better when applied with a good foaming sprayer and it should be more economical diluting it a bit and purchasing the larger size bottle.

Works great in Toyota Tacoma stock rims. The brake dust cleaned right off with a little scrubbing with brush, and hosed off with water.

Works as advertised

I normally buy the smaller versions of these products to try them and see if I like them. In this case I got P & S Break Buster in the 16oz bottle. I loved the product itself. It worked very well on my Black painted wheels. Spray it on a little agitation and done! However, the spray bottle was very disappointing. The trigger kept getting stuck in the pulled position and wouldn't go back to the start position. Three times more work Subtracting a start for that. Otherwise, I would have given 6 stars!

I had caked up break dust on my rims that I couldn't get off with soapy water. This dissolved the break dust with a little scrubbing without damaging the paint on my rims. Ill be buying another bottle next month.

I used the side of a plastic utensil to scrape the thick brake dust after letting this sit, the rest came off easy with a plastic bristle brush & old toothbrush for the small sections. Cannot use in freezing temps as it can’t fully penetrate the dust

Works really well. Picked this up to use on a Cadillac with Satin Graphite (black) alloy wheels. This particular car throws a lot of dust, and the previous wheel cleaner wasn't up to the task. Night and day difference, really. Spray on, wait about two minutes, then use your preferred implement to clean your rims. Watch as the brake dust comes right off. Rinse as needed, then admire the shine. That's one thing I have to emphasize, the shine. The other cleaner I had been using left the wheels looking almost foggy, but not this one. It doesn't smell pleasant, but I really don't care since it's going on the wheels. One thing to note, while the product is very effective, the spray trigger not so much. This was a brand new bottle and the trigger was struggling every so often. I imagine it will break before I get to the end of the bottle. Not sure if this is a product defect or just damage from shipping, but it's worth mentioning.

I recently tried P&S Brake Buster, and while it does a decent job of cleaning brake dust and grime, it didn’t blow me away. It works well for light cleaning, but for tougher, caked-on dirt, I found myself scrubbing more than I expected. The spray nozzle is easy to use, and it does not have a strong chemical smell, which is a plus. However, I was hoping for a more powerful cleaning performance given the hype. Overall, it’s an okay product, but I might explore other options for more stubborn dirt next time.

Best wheel cleaner I've used by far. I've tried most major brand wheel cleaners, the 'spray on, rinse off' and this stuff tops them all. Even after already cleaning my rims I was surprised at how much grime was removed from the wheels, but also the tires and painted callipers. I'll buy again and again, very pleased even if it's a bit more expensive.

My wheels were looking FILTHY so after researching - I ordered P&S Brakebuster Tyre and Wheel Cleaner. Pros - Much better than the Armor All I previously used. It changes colour as it cleans. Cons - Pungent smell. Used a fifth of bottle so unsure how economical unless I can dilute this. Overall would recommend.
