This MYDASH portable DVD player is a great purchase. The packaging was solid and everything arrived in perfect condition. Update: The seller reached out and offered a refund and to send me a replacement for free. The new one has no issues with parental control and works great. I’m pleased with the way it was handled in the end but still irritated that I heard nothing from support for weeks and it took me leaving a one star review to get any help. Original review: Does not play most DVDs! Gives a message that there is a parental control setting on the player that is preventing it from playing and asks for a password. No parental settings or password mentioned anywhere in the manual or the on-screen menu for the player. And it’s not the DVDs as they all work in other players. I contacted support twice and got absolutely no response. So frustrating as I waited for prime day to purchase a portable DVD player for an upcoming camping trip and now I will have to pay more for a different one as prime day is over, and will likely still not receive it in time. Would have been great if not for the parental control!

This portable DVD player exceeded my expectations. The swivel screen is bright and sharp, and the large 14.9" size is perfect for watching movies comfortably. The battery life is impressive and holds up well for long trips. I love that it supports DVDs from all regions and also plays videos from USB and SD cards. The build feels sturdy, and it’s easy to use. A fantastic travel companion for road trips, airplanes, and home use.

I purchased this DVD player 4 months ago. Only used it about 10 times. When I tried to charge the battery 4 days ago, it would not charge, even though I followed the instructions to charge it once a month to avoid battery failure. I sent 3 emails to their so called customer service, explaining the issue, asking how long the warranty was, and asking for their help. I have not received an answer to my emails, even after informing them in my third email that I would be posting my results and telling them that I would post it a ZERO if that were possible, if I did not hear from them within 24 hours. Still no response. The first red flag should have gone up when there was no warranty info listed either on Amazon or even their own website. The second red flag should have been when I saw that this model wasn't even listed on their website for warranty registration. Had to contact customer service questioning this and did receive an email stating they registered my DVD player for its warranty. Don't know if that was actually true. Based on the battery only lasting 4 months, and not receiving a response to my emails from them, I would advise anyone looking at this, or ANY electronics from this company to look elsewhere. UPDATE 08-19-24: I finally received a reply from customer service. In it they requested proof of my order, name, address, etc. and said they would send me a brand new product. If that actually happens, I'll do another update. UPDATE 10-02-24: I neglected to update after hearing from their customer service. Shortly after I posted the above review, their customer service contacted me and informed me they would issue a full refund, which they did. Then on 09-25-24, to my surprise they reached out again and profusely apologized. They said they had "inventoried" their emails and did not receive any of my emails. They also offered to to send me a new DVD player, free of charge. I sent a response, saying that they had already issued a refunded. The next day they sent another message stating that they wanted to send me the DVD player as compensation for the stress and inconvenience I had experienced. I agreed, and received the new DVD player the next morning. The company's customer service really came through.

I purchased the MYDASH 12.5" Portable DVD Player for my 13-year-old autistic daughter, and it has been absolutely perfect for her. She has a deep love for DVDs and watches them every single day, so having a reliable, easy-to-use player is incredibly important for her routine—and this one has not disappointed. The screen is a great size—large enough to enjoy her favorite shows without straining her eyes, but still lightweight and portable enough for her to carry around the house or take with us on car rides or trips. The picture and sound quality are both very good, and the swivel screen is a nice bonus. She was able to start using it right away with minimal help. The buttons are intuitive, and the remote makes it even easier for her to navigate. The battery life has been solid so far, and we love that it also works while plugged in, just in case. For the price, this DVD player is an incredible value. It’s durable, dependable, and has quickly become one of her favorite items.
