The UNIDEN R4 Extreme Long-Range Laser/Radar Detector is one of the best radar detectors I’ve used, offering excellent performance, reliable alerts, and plenty of features to keep you aware of speed traps and law enforcement presence on the road. Its extreme range and accuracy make it a must-have for anyone who spends a lot of time on the highway. Pros: Incredible long-range detection: The standout feature of the UNIDEN R4 is its exceptional long-range detection. It consistently picks up radar and laser signals well in advance, giving me plenty of time to adjust my speed. Even on wide, open highways, this detector can pick up signals from several miles away, which has saved me from speed traps more times than I can count. Accurate and reliable alerts: The R4 provides highly accurate alerts with minimal false alarms. It does a great job filtering out unnecessary alerts from automatic door sensors and other non-threat sources, which is often a problem with cheaper detectors. The advanced filtering technology ensures you get alerted only when it matters, keeping the ride smooth without constant beeping from false signals. Bought this for my wife a few years ago for Christmas and she loves it. As far as I know the accuracy is great and it lets her know when to watch her speed(lol). Still working great after 3-4 yrs so this thing is definitely good quality and built well!

This R4 has saved me countless times. Forget the other Unidens, this is all you need;it really works that well! Have been using and discarding radar detectors since the first ‘fuzz buster’, purchased from Crazy Eddie.The R4 is simply too good to be true.Buy it!

Great but with the auto-mute function was more consistent.

This thing has saved me so many times, I’ve had it for 4 years and it works like brand new, it sounds expensive until you get saved from the first ticket, worth the investment, don’t buy cheap they suck

This thing is brilliant running with R4 companion app (amazing range and filtering aside) the standout feature of this line is its phone connectivity allowing for 3rd party apps with increased filtering and geographic tracking/filters, the ability to move the display and controls to the phone, allowing the units display to be turned off. Put it in a mirror mount with a wire tap for power and its low visability. Mapping and time stamped logs are a nice option. Range is impressive, in flat open areas 4-5 minutes warning. Most extreme for me: 13 miles from first alert came upon two SP cruisers with radar blasting away. If you run Unidens R series in combination with waze there will be few surprises……laser will always be a problem but waze helps there.

Worth The money. Works perfectly! It actually detects 6-7 miles away, except with big, deep rolling hills at a good distance... it will affect it slightly.
