Bucket of Pirate Action Figures Toys Playset with Pirate Ship, Boat, Treasure Chest, Cannons, Shark for Kids Imaginary Pretend Play

This was a birthday present for a seven-year-old boy. He loved it! And moreover, I was extremely impressed with the quality of the pieces. There are about 10 pirates in various costumes and carrying various weapons and they are all posed in very detailed positions and painted very realistically with detailed face expressions.. There’s a small canon that actually shoots miniature plastic cannon balls, very well thought out! There is a rowboat and a pirate ship and the row boat has slots so you can stand a pirate up in the boat. It’s these details that make a toy like this more engaging for a child. The pirate ship has lots of detail as well and there is a treasure chest with gold in it that actually opens up. It is it a never ending source of frustration when toy makers include containers in play kits that don’t open! The first thing a child wants to do is see what’s inside. All in all, I have played with hundreds of toys with my niece and nephew and this one seems the most user-friendly and conducive to imaginative play. I will let you know how it holds up over time. But as a self-contained game (it comes in its own case too) I think the pieces will all stay together and create hours of fun for my nephew. I couldn’t find anything I didn’t like about this pirate set. Therefore I am giving it five stars. It was an excellent price point too.

Item arrived as promised and was exactly as described. These are colorful, detailed figures and just right for my grandson who has an old Imaginext Pirate ship. The characters do not have joints that move but they are just flexible enough to adjust their footing and posture so they can stand. The rowboat was excellent with its functional oarlocks and oars. The small sailing ship also was a adventurous complement to what my grandson had. The best surprise was the great white shark that made sounds and had blue glowing eyes when activated. All in all this purchase tripled the value and playing time for the old Imaginext Pirate ship. And the cannon worked and the treasure was cool. Ahoy!

I agree with all the reviews but, oddly, no one mentions the shark with the flashing blue eyes. If anyone is affected by flashing lights beware! A) no way to turn it off until it completes its cycle B) a hassle to unscrew to remove the batteries C) my 4 yr old grandson ran around flashing the lights in everyone's eyes! Other than that, a very nice playset.

Our grandson really likes the small action figures of this play set. He has played with it for hours! Well worth the money spent. There are a couple of items that are kind of delicate, however. The palm trees are prone to breakage where gluing back together didn't work. He still plays with them when he is on a sleepover with us. Overall, a good purchase. Hope this helps.

So I picked this one because my inner child loved the "butt" barrel. The general consensus is "booty" got lost in translation, though it was brought to my attention by a smarty pants friend that a "butt" is also a unit of measurement for wine. Anyway, my daughter is in kindergarten and her class has just started learning to read full words. So imagine my delight when she ran up to me with the barrel and excitedly said "look mom, it's pirate butt!!" That's the first word she has ever read in front of me. Seriously. Butt, anyway, she and her 4-yr old brother LOVE this set and are eating their dinner like perfect angels because that's the deal for them to play with it in their bath tonight. Quality seems reasonable for the price, and the cannon really shoots.

My son’s set was missing 7 pieces! Including 2 pirates and the shark. Very disappointed.

The playset is perfect for boys. It's not the best quality action figures, but it's not poor quality either. The shark and Canon are pretty cool. The boats and pirates should hold up in the bath tub, which my son is excited about. I highly recommend.

My son wanted a Pirate cake and these were the perfect cake toppers!!! They are a pretty sturdy material and they come in a small plastic tote that they can be stored in later. As soon as we were done cutting the cake my son was already to play with the pirates and it even has small cannons. Im all for buying toys as cake toppers because they can be used instead of wasted. Granted my Pirate cake started as a mermaid cake, I just wish we had gotten a bigger cake to fit everything on it.

Very few of the figures stand, with excess plastic from the moulds preventing any hope without trimming the feet and most of the other pieces have so much excess plactic it really shows how poor the qulaity is. For the price.....it's an absolute ripoff.
