That union guy that builds a $12 caliper makes $35 an hour so the have to pay that. And that’s if you can find one. **Q: Does this caliper eat batteries like many other inexpensive calipers?** A: I maybe use it twice a month. Have had over a year and never had to replace the battery. I prefer it over the HF. **Q: Can this be used for veterinary purposes?** A: It can be used for any purpose as long as that purpose is measuring something less than 6 inches. I seriously doubt that this caliper would last long with heavy use. It's made of a plastic like composite and it would break. Look for stainless steel, dial type calipers. I reccomend Fowler high precision.
