The Uproot Cleaner is a great hair remover for carpets but we use it for human hair. Here is the situation: We have a staircase with dark carpet strips that seems to be a magnet for hair and dust. We have several gray-haired individuals in the house, so hair and dust is quite visible every time we walk up the stairs. The problem was in how to clean it up. We have a powerful vacuum cleaner but it is an upright model that is not designed for stairs. It, however, comes with attachments such as for upholstery. The attachments are not good at pulling the hair out of the carpet fibers. What we had been doing was to use a squeegee to pull the hair out and then go over it with the vacuum attachment. That sort of worked but it took some elbow grease. The Uproot Cleaner replaces the squeegee and is way better - much more efficient, much faster, gets more hair, easier on the arms, and it fluffs up the carpet fibers and loosens the finer dust. Then we go over it with the vacuum attachment. It looks quite good and does the job in half the time.

Does it pick up pet hair? Yes. Does it trim the carpet as it goes? also yes. Buyer beware as it will thin out your carpets.

I have a big white wooly malamute dog and it's impossible to not know every place she's even thought about going. My house and car are covered in hair...but my rugs, car upholstery and house upholstery aren't. This thing is like Magic. Especially in the car. What used to take hours and hours and hours of vacuuming. Now takes five minutes. The hair just comes up. It just grabs it and pulls it up in a neat little pile, and you're done. I have very weak hands and I can even use it. I highly recommend. As far as the reviews that said that it damaged that fabric, just use your common sense and try a small area's First to see if it's gonna catch. For me it works great on all the typical common places you want to get hair up, which is carpet, rugs, upholstery, furniture. I've even used it on my pants before, but there are some clothing fabrics that will easily snag so on those types likely a sticky roller would work. With this genius product I am able to keep all my rugs clean, my car clean and my furniture clean. I don't know how I lived without this tool my whole life. My professional house cleaner even loves it. Excellent little tool!
