Lens is very good

Having now tried the two copies of the 40mm and a single copy of the 28mm I've come to the conclusion that the 28mm is a better lens, mainly because it's sharp wide open which the 40mm isn't. My biggest problem with the 28mm is it's focal length. For any type of street or candid photography it's simply too wide. Ultimately this lens will be for a very specific market but if you're thinking of using it for street / candid photography it's pretty useless. Colour rendering is also pretty uninspiring compared to even the mid range 1.8 lenses.My advice, skip and go for a mid price 1.8 lenses because other than weight there's not much else great about this lens, YMMV.

This is a superb light weight and versatile lens. Optically its a great performer, and stop down one stop for edge to edge sharpness. Plastic mount didn't put me off, its not heavy enough for that to be a problem. AF is quick and silent, and very responsive. A great addition to anyones Z line up.
