Adorable and very well made
Very cute well made doll. They fit Newborn sized baby clothes perfectly. I purchased this one to model doll clothes I sell online and she photographs cute too. This would make a great special gift for a young child, high quality made doll and easy to find other clothes for.

Most reasonable (& easiest) way to get your child a "little sister"
Just before my child turned four a year ago, she said she wanted a baby doll to be her "little sister". I started browsing and looked for a while before I found her! This doll is cute enough to literally take on a life of her own - my 4 year old takes her with us to the grocherie store and while in the cart (or being carried akwardly by small arms) we get double and triple looks from people, especially if leave her in cart when walk a few steps away from the cart. Some have even asked to take a photo of the doll to show someone at home (my daughter is a little possessive of her though). We have made sure to put a blanket over her (doll) when she's left in the backseat of the car so we don't have to worry about someone thinking she's unsupervised and in need of rescuing on a hot day. We've had her for almost a year now with almost daily use (she's "baby sister" after all) and the only "injury" she's sustained was when my daughter threw the doll up into the air and she scuffed her head against the door frame (ouch!). Body torso has developed a few fuzzy pills from washing occasionlly in a pillow case but nothing to complain about. She was great at motaviting/ bribing my daughter to take the yucky medicine when she had a bad ear infection (baby sister was holding the treat out and "talking") This doll is a great price, has a fabric "body" that is stuffed with something like batting. Has harder (not super hard) plastic head, feet & hands. She is about 20" long and about the width of a typical 3 to 6ish month old. Am pretty sure her crib shoes are the size for a 6month old (but the leg is rather wide where it attaches at an odd angle to her very short but wide feet) so shoes that will have elastic at the top of the shoe or some kind of flexible closure is more ideal. My daughter has put her into some of the Build A Bear clothing items but honestly her head doesn't fit well through them and she's a much better fit for the baby clothing in size 6mo up through 9mo (large 3mo items and up to 12 month clothing if has been washed a lot and has shrinkage; best pant size is 3mo or 6 mo items). Baby clothing is far more ideal for fit and will be far cheaper (especially if you go to a thrift store or can use "hand-me-downs". She barely fits in the cheap metal framed umbrella style doll stroller. Not sure how she'd fit in the Melissa and Doug Shopping Cart. This doll definitely bulkier than a regular sized American Girl Doll (will not fit in that doll bike seat attachment & have not identified if there's a baby carrier that she'll fit into - looked too big for the doll carrier that is styled after the Urgo/Baby Bjorn baby carriers (haven't tried though; only saw carrier that belong to a friend of my child). One of the pics shows a stroller she fits very well into - was a larger (& more expensive) 3 in 1 doll stroller. I think she had a bit of a "baby" doll smell in the beginning, but nothing unreasonable (we are ones to notice chemically smells). Am including some photos to show her size. The clothing and plastic bottle and pacifier that she came with still exist and have held up but have not gotten nearly as much use as the doll herself. Definitely recommend her if you're wanting a baby doll that is life size without spending a fortune. (FYI: Afterwards I did notice some of our local drug stores have slightly smaller sized dolls that are about this price or slightly lower & might fit a bit better in the metal doll umbrella style stroller and you can see in person the size which was the toughest part of buying this one). Am glad I got her & my daughter adores her - definitely the easiest way to provide your child with a little sibling (not the quietest though).

Love it & it was a good price on sale
The only thing I did not like about this product was that the company had it on sale for $12 and did not have the other dolls on sale for that price. I did read the reviews before purchase and saw that several people said the skin tone was more yellow, green, or gray but that was not the case for this baby. This baby looks Caucasian except for it's eyes that are really dark brown, almost black and distinctively Asian. It is very pretty and I was wanting to get my daughter a doll that looked like her a bit but this one was on sale and is a test run for getting other baby dolls for my daughter. My daughter has blonde hair and blue/brown hazel eyes and I was wanting to get her a doll that is the size of her baby brother but wasnt wanting to break the bank when doing so. This baby fits the bill & she loves it, so I will probably purchase the Caucasian girl and boy (with blue eyes) so she can have a set of "twin" babydolls like I had when I was her age. I love these dolls because they are realistic looking (the Asian one even has 4 teeth in the front) and they fit in Newborn & smaller 0-3 month size clothing so instead of having to spend a fortune on baby doll clothes, you can use clothes your children have grown out of or make them clothes if you are crafty (I have found videos on youtube on how to make baby clothes) or you can buy baby clothes on clearance at the stores or from thrift stores. I got a shallow rubbermaid storage drawer to use as this doll's bassinet and gave my daughter her old baby clothes and baby clothes her brother has grown out of and also given her the baby blankets that she had as a baby for her doll and the diaper bag that I used for her so she can put everything away. The only thing I did not like about this doll is that if you put short sleeves on it, it looks like it is wearing long sleeves underneath because of the cloth body, but honestly that is not a huge issue. It is soft enough for kids to sleep with and good to teach them how to button, snap, & zip clothing and how to care for a baby if they do not have a younger sibling.

You can make Baby look and feel real very easily!
This little one exceeded my expectations. The number one reason I bought this one over the other races was because of the smile. So cute! I also bought it since other reviewers said it fit newborn clothes. NB is actually a little loose in the feet area, but otherwise fine and a lot cuter. Newborn hats are a little tight. I went to Goodwill for baby clothes because they are normally in great shape (babies don't wear them for long!) and much cheaper, about $1.99-3.99 for most sleepers, $0.99 for hats, and you just wash them up and you're good to go. The packaging for this product was ridiculously difficult. If you are giving it to a child for a present, honestly I would take it out of the box (took over 10 minutes) and place it in a new box in blankets or something (more likely the child will like that better anyway, and they can pick baby up right away) to make it easier. As you can see in my photo (red background), one of baby's thumbs fits --and stays-- in baby's mouth, which is super cute. I added small "incisions" into the soft back and took out some of the stuffing and added cheap ankle weights into the head (accessible from the soft body) and into the body to make the weight more real. Very easy and it makes baby more fun to hold. Because it is newborn size, it makes it more real to add weight to the head so you have to support it, just like you do a new baby. Overall, I am very happy with this little baby. EDIT: I found a carter's preemie size sleeper and it's a little tight. See second photo with green background.

Cute but could have been better
I bought this doll for my then two year old daughter. She barely played with it then, but now that she's three, she plays with it a lot more often. Out of all of her dolls, she plays with this one the most. It is a large doll, but it's a real baby size. It can wear newborn or 0-3 month baby clothes. That makes me happy because I still have all of my daughter's old baby clothes so now I don't have to buy a bunch of doll clothes. This dolls is supposed to be Asian, but you can barely tell its Asian by looking at it. The skin color is yellow-tinged and looks slightly strange to me. It doesn't have hair; instead, its head has grooves that are supposed to look like hair and its "hair" is a brown color. It would have seemed more Asian if it had darker hair and of course real-looking hair would have been more realistic. The eyes do not open and close, in case you are wondering about that. The head, half of the lower arms, the hands, the feet, and half of the lower legs are hard, but the torso and 3/4 of the arms and legs are made of fabric and stuffing. That is one of the major cons of this doll (the fabric arms and legs) because that means it has to wear at least 3/4 sleeves in order not to look weird. Otherwise the fabric part of the limbs will show. No short sleeves or shorts or shorter dresses for this baby. It comes with a hat, an outfit with attached bib, a bottle, and a pacifier that is attached to its outfit. The description says its purple but it looks like light blue to me. This doll can be a boy or girl, as far as appearance. Mine has two top teeth and two bottom teeth, which are really cute. The pacifier is too hard for my daughter to get in his mouth. I can barely get it in there, and when I do it usually pops back out. They should have designed it to stay in there. It always frustrates her. This doll can't sit up on its own. It has to be propped up. It's fairly realistic looking and I think it's cute.

Looks so real :)
I've just received this doll yesterday. As an adult, I never really bought any toys for myself since few weeks ago. But I did like dolls a lot when I was a kid. But then I accidentally came across these cute dolls I also bought another 18 inch fashion doll) online and I thought it'd be great to have some fun for myself since they're not that expensive. :) This doll came after a week, which was yesterday. I was really excited when I opened the box, just like I'm a kid opening a present :D Upon opening the box, I could smell lavender... it's great! Then after taking the doll out, the doll actually has some weight... not as light as the toys I used to play (I used to have a baby doll when I was a kid). So I weighed this baby, and she's exactly 2 lbs :) I looked at the details of this baby. she has some realistic baby features-- eyes that look real, an opening mouth with 2 bottom teeth, all that baby "wrinkles" too. Then you can also put 1 of her thumbs into her mouth. That is really cute! And you would really feel that you're holding a baby when you hold her. However, she doesn't look exactly the same as the picture. But in my personal opinion... she actually looks better. Ok... if you look at the pictures, there are 2 facial expression, one is smiley face and the other is the one that opens the mouth. And Amazon didn't really tell you which one you're getting. This works fine for me, I think they're both cute and I got the one with the opening mouth :) Also I think my baby doll doesn't look as "round" and chubby as the one in the picture. But I think this makes her look even more realistic. Also the outfit is a little different than the picture. My baby's outfit is all pink with a beetle in the middle. I'd like the say that even the outfit is somewhat cute, the fabric is not a good quality. You may probably want to give her another outfit. And I also think that the body's cloth can be thicker. I don't know if it can hold up well for a kid playing with it. So this is my review of this cute baby doll. For $30 with free shipping, I think this is a good deal for such a cute baby doll. If you're looking for x'mas gifts for your girls, I think this would be a good choice! :) *** UPDATE OCT 2011: OK I just want to give you an update for this baby doll and the changes JC toys made on the news ones! (You can probably find this in my other review) 1. The lavender smell is pretty much gone after almost a year. It becomes a very subtle smell. 2. I just bought the Asian Version of this exact same doll from the JC toys website and can see they made some changes to it. First of all, the new doll no longer has the lavender smell. Then the new doll does NOT have a weighed bottom... It is actually about 1 lb lighter than the old one I got a year ago! I guess they made these changes for the kids. While I don't care much about the smell since it'll go away eventually, I do prefer a doll to have a weighed bottom so it can sit better :( . Too bad I am not that crafty, otherwise I would have added some weight to the bottom! Other than the smell & the body weight, these two dolls are exactly the same in terms of their vinyl, size and outfit.

Great Doll, Interesting Buying Experience
This is a great doll. I was looking for a new doll for my 3 year old son (his first doll was very well loved, beginning to come apart, and has been retired to a keepsake box). His preschool has dolls of different ethnicities and genders, and encourages boys and girls to play with them; we encourage this in our home as well. We are African-American, and we wanted a doll with which our son could positively identify and looked like him. So I began searching for a soft-body, African-American, boy doll of 18" or 20" with a reasonable price, $50 max. I searched and searched and searched and searched...for weeks. I found no dolls with the above qualities. So I put on my thinking/lawyer cap and decided to purchase a girl doll, unpackage it, dress it in boy clothing, and repackage it. For different reasons I felt uncomfortable doing this and was concerned about the void/almost nonexistence of such dolls for African-American boys; and various gender stereotypes my actions raised. But I was happy to do this for my son. I paid about $25 for the doll. The doll is extremely sturdy, of very high quality, and has the cutest facial expression. Regarding clothing, it was cheaper to purchase real and durable baby clothes than flimsy and expensive doll clothes. So I ended up buying several Carter's footed jumpsuits, hats, socks, bibs, etc., of newborn size (at a super discount from Ross Dress for Less). The total price for everything came to around $50 (our budget for the doll). My son was overjoyed with his new doll and was especially excited that it has hair like his. He said, "He looks like me." That was our intention with this endeavor, and I'm very glad that it met my son's expectations. In the end, this was a very good purchase and I highly recommend this doll.

Love Berenguer/JC toys brand dolls
My niece is almost 2.5 and really starting to get into babies and loving things. Her mom is not a huge doll person and I am, so I told her I'd take care of it. Berenguer brand baby dolls, currently JC toys, are a favorite of my kids. So I knew that was the route I was going. She likes matching so I wanted something big enough to wear real baby clothes. At 20" long, this baby can easily fit between newborn and 0-3 months outfits. I grabbed a newborn headband and it fit perfectly. I love that you can make the doll a boy or girl, with just changing the clothes. The body is perfect for a toddler! A big ol squishy, huggable body. Zero smell! The plastic parts are the head, hands and feet. I forgot what it's called, 3/4 body i think? Where the limbs aren't full, it's only a little past the ankle and wrist. Either way, perfect for her. I bought a long sleeve and pants outfit to match my niece's pjs. I love that this can be washed. She's a toddler and it's her first baby. She's already going everywhere with her. Magic eraser on the plastic parts, toss in the washer and air dry if the body gets dirty. Could not be better! It comes with a little bottle, i would've preferred a disappearing bottle, but that just means I get to get her more accessories. My absolute favorite part about Berenguer/ JC babies is that they come with a pacifier that fits perfectly. For a little girl that adores her baby, that means a lot. I simply cut it off of the outfit it arrived it. This is so cute and so many possibilities because it can wear real baby clothes, that my 7 year old wants one for her bday. *it fits size 1 pampers perfectly, just fold the back under a little
