Monster Cable M1000 HDTV HDMI A/V Cable - 1.22m / 4 ft
Extraordinarily expensive when compared to generic "store brand" HDMI cables that may sell for a buck at 95% off or something. But in my case -getting this Monster cable it was very well worth it.After purchasing a top-of-the-line Samsung LCD HDTV, and a Denon Blu-Ray player, I originally connected the two together with a cheaply-bought HDMI cable. Very bad idea. While attempting to watch Blu-ray or DVD movies, the picture would occasionally snap, click, make funky digital-checker-board patterns, blank out briefly to white, or randomly lose the HDMI signal completely and tell me so on-screen.Upon further investigation, there seemed to be a fairly loose connector on the cheap HDMI cable where it plugged into the TV or Player - would easily pull out with very little pressure. Unplugging and re-plugging, and switching ends, and wriggling the ends seemed to help for a while, but inevitably the "loss of signal" events continued. Apparently HDMI cable connectors and jacks are not inherently particularly snug-fitting or robust, as compared to the older RCA Video Composite or Component jacks, or even the previous S-video cables.Anyway after not a few panic and anxiety attacks, and worries about much wasted money and time, and possibly having to return the HDTV and/or Blu-Ray Player (where is that receipt and warranty card!! was the online store a "factory authorized" seller??), I finally decided to try a better HDMI cable as the lower-cost solution. The Monster Cable M1000 HDMI Cable came promptly to the rescue. There was a very satisfying, snug, firmly robust fit into the HDTV and Blu-Ray player jacks. Resulted in a perfect picture and sound quality, with absolutely no disturbances, droputs, flashes, snaps, blanks, or "No Signal" messages. The difference in cable quality was amazing. This Monster cable is the best investment you can make in maximizing the performance and reliability of your new HDTV and Blu-Ray player. If you get an expensive HDTV and Player, don't skimp on the crucial HDMI Cable! The cheap ones are NOT RELIABLE, and if you get one of the defective ones like I did, you will not be happy.I had never before been a fan of anything from Monster Cable, due to the absurd pricing. Now - I would buy nothing but Monster Cables.

Very stiff cable
It appears to be well made and rated faster blah blah blah.I wanted peace-of-mind knowing I had a top quality HDMI cable which I have no reason to think this isn't. My only disappointment is how stiff the cable is. Is that really necessary? Perhaps it is with this rated top quality HDMI cable. I purchase the 4 foot length because that's all I need, however, because the cable is so stiff I need an extra foot.I'm keeping the cable but using my older cheaper quality cable with my system for which I can't see a difference anyway. Blu-ray but no Ultra 4k here yet, so maybe when I upgrade my video system I'll see a difference.

Excellent value for your money -- REVISED
These are great cables - good for up to 17k of data transmission. Monster guarantees these cables to be the last one you buy so when they come out with 32k or 64k TV's - you can exchange these cables. I figure I'm good for now. These used to be $100+ so now is the time to save and connect your equipment the right way. If you can afford the higher rated cables - go for it but these should be fine. You will read other reviews here on skeptical people saying buy the cheapest ones you can find. I personally participated in a cable measurement experiment and most other cables can't handle the data rates and/or drop down from 1080p to 1080i on the longer runs. I will post pics of the measuring equipment if I can find them.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Revised from 5-star to 1-star.The review above was for my first set of cables. I ordered a second set and they were bad out of the packaging. After taking the product out of the package, one of the ends fell apart while plugging in for the first time. Something isn't write - I never had this experience with Monster. I returned them and as soon as I dropped off package at my local Staples UPS center and they scanned the tag, Amazon issued me a credit. It was as painless as can be. But still very disappointed.

Great Cable
Monster Cable M1000 4' HDTV HDMI A/V Cable - 1.22MI am an audiophile/videophile junkie wanting to get the last ounce of performance out of my system so after reading the reviews I bought the M1000 to replace the monster 1000HD Ultra-high speed hdmi cables I already had in my system. I bought an M1000 16 foot cable to go from my receiver to my professionally calibrated 72" 1080p DLP TV and a 4 foot M1000 to go from my Blu-Ray player to the receiver. I anticipated at least a minor improvement, but was really surprised at how much of an improvement the cable made. Sometimes when you upgrade, so much of the improvement is subjective and you WANT to think you are seeing/hearing a difference (whether there is one or not). That is not the case here. The M series truly gives the picture a 3D appearance that was lacking with the other cables. Colors are more vivid and the picture is more detailed and just overall more pleasing to the eye. I was really, really surprised to get that level of improvement especially since I was using one of Monster's better cables to begin with. My components are fairly high end and I expect the best and this cable is truly the best hdmi cable I ever used. Monster bashers beware - this is a product that you will be hard pressed to find fault with. A definite must have for any audiophile/videophile. BTW, I replaced the hdmi cables from my Tivo, HD DVD player and universal DVD/SACD/DVD Audio player as well and the improvements were the same across the board. I am actually going through my regular DVD library again. The sonic improvements are more difficult to quantify -and it may be the "I want it to sound better" syndrome, but to me it does provide an increased depth and clarity to the soundstage. The video improvements are really what set this cable apart, though.
