What a bargain!
Not really sure what they mean by “test rod“. I assumed it was from a batch of rods used at a trade show that couldn’t be sold as new due to the low price, but mine came new and unused. I had a fantastic old but well loved Diawa reel that needed a home so heck for $22 I bought one figuring somebody always stops by without a rod and will use it. I have three new Daiwa AirX’s I paid over $100 for each. This rod is not nearly as pretty as the AirX but the quality is just as good as, if not better. I may very well make it my go to rod this season. You won’t find a $22 rod that compares to this one.

Excellent for the Price
I've bought four of these. Will buy more. First set lasted 5 years with numerous 15 and 20 pound Carp and Catfish landed with them. Countless smaller fish. Take care of the guides, and keep them clean, as they'll be the first thing to go. I'll definitely buy more of these as they are excellent for the way I fish, and a terrific value. They're a true workhorse, and will survive many battles.

I have 4 of these for lake trout fishing, and they're fantastic. Mine are about 6 years old, and I haul them in a boat behind my ATV into remote lakes in northern Minnesota and southern Ontario. They get bounced all over and still land 20 pound trout without any issues. I'd give them 10 stars if I could.**********
