I have yet to use these in anger, but judging by initial testing, these are great! I bought a cheaper 6" set, and the locking ridges are, quite frankly, not very good. These , however, lock the bar securely. They are heavy, well constructed, and, despite the cheaper set, have rubber feet. Great value for money. Why has it taken me 40 years to invest in these clamps? Well, I am an amateur DIY'er, and you always make do, don't you. But, I am fed up of making do. For safety alone, how I have not stabbed myself with chisels, or chopped off limbs using jigsaws, I will never know. I bought these for a Black and decker workmate, because however hard you try, you can't secure a piece of timber in the jaws for love or money. These will be perfect. For cutting accuracy, and for safety. Quick release, and very easy to use. I would highly recommend. These should be included in every man's toolkit (even if you rarely do diy because you hate it! :) )

These clamps are perfect and already well used for projects in the garden. They are of good quality and feel robust.

I bought these clamps wanting something a little stronger than the Irwin type of quick bar clamp. This clamp proved to be much stronger in use although I would suggest that these are medium duty clamps. The quick release system is fast in use and well designed. The screw used to tighten the clamp is far more effective than the squeeze grip type of clamp closure. I also think these represent good value for this jaw opening size. I had tried to research a number of clamps including, Bessey and Irwin. Overall, for the price I paid (£9 per clamp when bought in twin packs) and features as well as strength of construction, I give the Jorgensen clamp the top marks. As a general DIY/hobbyist clamp for medium duty, I believe they represent great value. They came in boxes marked "Made in China" and I had expected them to say "Made in USA" where Jorgensen were based. The Pony/Jorgensen company went out of business about 7 ~ 8 years ago and was purchased by a Chinese business. They have obviously kept all of the machine tooling and designs and so they are producing good quality clamps in my estimation. At the price I paid, I do not think you will be a disappointed if you have ordinary woodworking needs.
