These gels do what they claim, but don’t fall into the same trap I did and assume they offer some sort of magical, scientifically enhanced performance boost. Spoiler: they’re basically glorified glucose syrup in a fancy packet. Nutritionally, one gel has the same benefit as 3-4 Jelly Babies - except the Jelly Babies don’t make your bank account cry. 80p per gel vs 9-12p per 3-4 Jelly Babies Yes, there are "electrolytes" listed on these, but it’s essentially a polite pinch of sea salt - about the same amount you’d get if you touched a crisp and licked your finger. Not exactly a replacement for HIGH5 Zero hydration tablets (which I highly recommend). In fairness, gels are handy during long endurance events, especially when chewing becomes a life-or-death negotiation. But for normal training, Jelly Babies are the far superior option. They’re cheaper, tastier, easier to carry, and don’t leave your gym bag covered in sticky regret. In short: great for races, unnecessary for everyday use… unless you really enjoy funding the sports nutrition industry’s holiday homes.

Great for running and cycling as easy on the stomach

These energy gels are fantastic! I swear by the High 5 products for running. They are easy to open, the consistency is much easier to swallow mid-run, compared to other energy gels on the market. They are also really good value for money. Highly recommend!

Great taste, easy on the stomach and a great pure CLEAN carb source. No fillers unlike other ‘hyped up’ brands.

I get on well with the gel, I’ve used them for years because they keep me going on long rides BUT, the new packaging is horrible. It’s like using a poorly designed yoghurt pot! The poor design (no doubt designed to hang from an hook in a shop’s display) and thickness of the packaging makes it difficult to use on the go and almost impossible to get all of the gel out. Unless you completely rip the top of the package off( which is no easy feat ) the remaining section gets in the way and because the packaging is so thick the old technique of drawing the gel up to the hole does not work. I wonder how many people have ripped their lips whilst trying to open and using the new deigned packs? I doubt high 5 read the reviews, but if you do please go back to the old package design.

These are great for my son who plays a lot of sport but has a restricted diet. They give him an immediate boost and help raise his energy levels. The taste is a bit sweet and quite artificial but not too bad. Taste best when kept cooler.

This helped me refuel and get an extra boost on the last part of my first 10K! Great taste and you don’t need water with it. I chose Berry. Very happy to have this on my long runs.

Soy usuario de la marca High5, compré estos geles tipo hidrogel ( no necesitan agua) porque nunca los había probado y el resultado ha sido espectacular. Sabor buenísimo, se diluye rápidamente en la boca sin necesidad de agua, por su reducido tamaño se puede portar en cualquier pequeño bolsillo, y su sistema de apertura muy sencillo , solo tienes que dar un leve tirón y ya puedes tomártelo. Lo he probado en carreras de resistencia de más de dos horas y el aporte de glucosa es bastante bueno, la recuperación ideal, te da un extra de energía. Muy buen producto
